Because it is a very good way to see Melbourne central area and will not cost you anything, so therefore when a family is on a budget holiday they can see the sights without spending anything.
It’s FREE! What more can I say. Great for the tourists to get around the city plus great for the workers to get from one place to another if in a rush. The fact that it is a charming little brown thing is just the icing on the cake….
The tram is so friendly, egalatarian, convenient and so “Melbourne’” that for all and sundry the CCT is so great. Also visitors are so suprised that it’s free that this gets them off to a great start in Melbourne
Trams are Melbourne. They’re a unique part of us. The City Circle Tram is a great way to get around Melbourne’s attractions.
A fantastic way for young people, non-Melbournians or OS tourists to not only see Melbourne but also learn a little about our great city! And what better way than on an old red rattler! Beats any other trams I’ve been on around the world!
Trams are a unique part of Melbourne’s cultural and driving experience! Where else do you perform hook turns in this country? The old rattlers - nothing like them!
A good way for anyone to get around the edges of Melbourne CBD.
As a visitor from the Gold Coast this weekend, I loved the tram ride around the city. The friend that sent me this competition opportunity told me about the free brown tram around the city. I’ve lived in Melbourne before but didn’t know much about the city attractions. This is a great way to learn about and explore the CBD. We visited Fitzroy Gardens and the next day went up to the Queen Victoria Markets. It was wet and cold and we may have stayed indoors except for the tram being available. Highly recommended and possibly undervalued.
thank you Jeff kennett for this wonderful idea
Also make it more obvious to visitors that it is free. I had a young lady from China ask me at the pedestrian lights if it was free….
Great idea, should be expanded a bit eg. to Vic market etc, wherever tourists like to go….
A cheap way for tourists to find items of interst in the CBD.
