    willow creek vineyard merricks north
Sample their lovely wines on a Sunday, then relax out on their outdoor deck overlooking their vineyard, sipping wine and sampling their scrumptuous light tapas food from their cellar door cafe which is to die for!!

Whilst visiting the Mornington Peninsula, accommodation at SUNSET VIEWS at Cape Schanck was the highlight of our visit. Great hosts and great accommodation close to all that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer.

The Mornington peninsula is spectacular in it’s own right and the addition of the winery’s adds to the pleasure. The vinyards are so well kept and provide everything you need to stay a while, including good food and visitor facilities. We have been twice now and always receive a very warm welcome.
    First class.

Mornington Peninsula wine region has the best of both worlds - wonderful wines and food in so many gorgeous settings, and such a fantastic location close to the seaside but with a lovely rural aspect also. Our family has enjoyed many great trips to this region and I never fail to be thrilled with the area each time I go - my dream is to live there one day!

It is such a nice day driving around the beautiful winery’s of the Peninsula.
You feel like you are a million miles away from reality and yet it is just over an hour drive from Melbourne. We love discovering a new winery each time we go down and highly recommend it to anyone who has a free weekend to get away.

You must not miss eating at Ten Minutes by Tractor. We had lunch there recently, and without a doubt it was the best meal I’ve eaten anywhere for a year. On top of the beautiful view from the dining room, their service is attentive but unobtrusive, the food is absolutely delicious and the suggested wines were a perfect match for each course. 10 out of 10. I would recommend a visit without hesitation.

my favourite is mantons creek on tucks road in main ridge. hidden among gum trees is an exquisite valley of vines. the 2003 pinot gris is my personal favourite wine.

another gem is elgee park where every year before the queens birthday holiday their glorious property (800 acres of horses, cattle and views) comes alive for their only open day, they have a stunning sparkling white too. definitely worth the trip!

After three years abroad returning to the Mornington Peninsula has been heaven sent. The views, beaches, bushland, wildlife, people, restaurants and the vineyards- how lucky we are to have this in our own backyard. So why not take a drive to the Peninsula, the ultimate getaway and drive down the backroads to discover hidden wineries and restaurants, wander through Green’s Bush or stay a night or two in a delightful B & B. I can highly recommend Max’s at Red Hill Estate, for fabulous food, wine & accommodation. So why wait - endulge your senses!!!

What a wonderful place! Sensation food, beautiful, diverse vistas, wines of class and integrity. A blend of flavours and offerings throughout the region. Not to mention the quality of the Cellar Door staff throughout the region’s oustanding wineries.

Mornington Peninsula is my new place of discovery Every time I have visited I find a new winery or hot springs and places to eat . Just to walk along a beach, stay for the weekend it feels like a week away and it is only one hour from Melbourne. Who needs to go to South of France?

The wines of Box Stallion are NEW, FUN & AMBITIOUS. This theme is reflected in the cellar door restaurant, the winner of the 2003 – 2004 Frankston & Mornington Peninsula Small Business Award for Tourism. The cellar door caters for customers looking for a relaxed lunch from a carefully composed menu, in the unique surroundings of the now famous Red Barn. Lunch is not the only focus at the barn. The friendly hospitality includes live music on Sundays from some of the best musicians in the business with everything from a solo guitarist playing Australian bush classics to a five piece Spanish band playing for a troop of exciting flamenco dancers.

Amour Of The Grape Mornington Peninsula Wine Tours, locally owned and operated, they specialise in small group tours taking from 2 to 6 passengers, they visit 4-5 cellar doors and love to visit the smaller ones. Each tour is different as they style the tour to your tastes. Lunch and all tasting fees are included in the tariff. Pick up is from your accommodation. A must do for wine lovers.

Mornington Peninsula is one of Melbourne’s best kept secrets in many ways. So close to Melbourne, it has a unique character - rural ambience, dramatic coastlines, beautiful vistas, a hinterland of hills and valleys with wineries and local producers creating a spectacular tapestry. I love being able to visit several Cellar Doors, any time, in a relaxed manner and also mix in lunch or Dinner as good as you would find anywhere.

My last visit to the Mornington Peninsula was a very enjoyable and memorable experience when I happened to turn down one of the most picturesque roads in Main Ridge. Main Creek Road is such a pretty meandering drive and it twas where I discovered the most beautiful wines and what a selection awaited me at Vidoni Estate Vineyard & Olive Grove, eleven in total including estate table olives to taste and buy. I was enthralled with the passion and knowledge about their wines and the area that came from the person behind the tasting bench. Their’s was not the only interesting delight along this road, there are other vineyards, cellar doors, restaurants, cafes, bed & breakfasts and olive groves to discover and make your next visit to the Mornington Peninsula a trully memorable one too.

The restaurants and cafes provide a decadent array of gourmet foods with just-picked local produce and regional wines, and with a maritime climate that produces elegant and complex varieties of Pinot Noir,
Chardonnay and Pinot Gris a visit to one of the many award winning wineries is a must. One of the delightful things about the Peninsula is the ease of travelling the length of our coastlines, or meandering back and forth on country roads with glorious views of oceans and vineyards.

Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove. The most photographed vineyard property on the Mornington Peninsula, combines vineyards, olive groves, wetlands and streams with farmland and Western Port Bay as a backdrop. Try the olive oil and other estate produced gourmet products. Spectacular provincial cuisine served in the restaurant and in the al fresco piazza. Six specially selected picnic spots can be booked for private use and enjoyed with a gourmet hamper prepared by the restaurant. Hampers are tailor made to taste and a private picnic spot by the wetlands or adjacent to a natural waterhole can be reserved.

The Mornington Peninsula has it all! I especially love it’s gourmet qualities - be it primary produce, superbly cooked meals or a delicate cool climate wine. A great place to visit any time of the year.

My all time favorite region, so close to home but i feel so far away when i am there. So many things to do and so much wine. Summer is great at the beaches and i love visiting the wineries in Winter. A great expereince with the lot.

I think the Mornington Peninsula is a beautiful place, but my main love is good food and wine, which is what I get at the Peninsula cellar doors, along with some great views.

A truly relaxing experience. I love cruising around the gravel roads and its so easy to get lost. But whichever way you go you will find the beach eventually.

I feel very fortunate to be a resident of this beautiful part of the world - we have over 50 wineries producing world class wines, a number of which also have excellent restaurants serving wonderful food made from locally grown produce, we are totally spoilt for choice, so a great place to come and spend a few days and explore.

You need to stay awhile on the Peninsula, there are around 70 cellar doors to explore, the large and famous of course, but I just love the smaller venues, they are just so boutique, the person behind the cellar door is the owner/wine maker, their passion shows and their venues interesting, fantastic pinots, stunning chardonnay’s, beautiful pinot gris/grigio. Don’t over look the cool climate shiraz and Italian and Spanish varietals. Spectacular wines and interesting characters. Simply stunning wines can be found in the most obscure little cellar door, so take a drive up that dirt road that seems to lead no where and see what wine awaits your discovery.

Vineyards, variety of cellar doors and restaurants in close proximity with bay beaches and beach boxes to one side and ocean beach to the other, orchards and pastoral land inbetween.
