Tremendous! Wild coastlines will always grip the imagination. The staff are so friendly and do a great job of placing the cape and the lighthouse in the context of the Aboriginal occupants and European settlement. History brought to life!

A bit out of the way (then again, who would put a lighthouse in the middle of the Princes Highway !!) but well worth the trip.
I visited with my four-year-old son and we both loved it.
Very interesting staff and lots to see.
The climb to the top is very rewarding.
Oh, and quite cheap, too !!

Lovely drive from the Great Ocean Road to the lighthouse through unspoilt bush with plenty of koalas and wallabies to see along the way on the roadside.
The ocean view at the lightstation is spectacular and changes with each visit depending on the time of day and weather conditions. Have a snack from the cafe while enjoying the views and other attractions available.

We have been fortunate to stay at the Cape Otway Lighthouse twice. The first time as a family and the second time with three other families (one who had come over from England). Both times were sensational. The views are spectacular, the ambience amazing and we LOVED the ghosts, orbs and other ’strange’ things that happened while we were there. The night time walks with our torches to go rabbit spotting were particular good fun.

    We’ll be back for another adventure . . .

The experience of staying at cape otway light station with the constant changing weather patterns, sunrises and sunsets, was an awesome experience.
Being able to wander around the property as a guest with the whole place to experience in early and late hours truly gave a great sense of the isolation and wonder of this magnificent coastal vantage point.

Cape Otway Lightstation is a fabulous tourist destination. The drive through the rainforest to reach the Lightstation is a beautiful start to your visit. The Lightstation itself is a place rich with history. The guides have a high-level of knowledge not just of the Lightstation but also of the sarrounding region. The views from both the Lighthouse and the cliff-tops are magnificent. Make sure you don’t miss out on the home-cooked meals at the cafe!

You have to stay to really experience this place. It’s lovely to sit on the grass at the end of the day with a glass of wine looking at the lightstation and the ocean, and then to wake up to the same view! Very peaceful and something you can’t find elsewhere!

A brilliant place to go and unwind. An overnight stay is a must, in the morning you may think you have lost your hearing as the early mornings are just so peaceful. The distant song of a magpie or the thump thump of a Wallabee hopping through the tee trees makes you realise that your ears are still working properly, it’s just so peacefull.

I have always found the staff to be very helpfull and friendly. I was also very impressed with the great pride they show in in being the custodians of such a wonderful location, including the ability to recount some of it’s history.

A very fulfilling holiday destination that I will return to time and time again.

We spent 2 delightful nights/days at the lighthouse - enjoying the feeling of being the light house keepers. During the day alive with tourists and at night very quiet and peaceful

The light-house is a unique tourist offering, in that it reminds a visitor of his or her smallness in the face of nature’s awesome beauty. It’s such a refreshing break from all that is familiar in our city-based lives.

The Cape Otway Lighthouse sits magestically on one of the most spectacular pieces of our coastline. No tourist should miss going to this amazing place. And all the locals should take time out to see what they’ve got at their “back door”

What a fantastic location! 12 of us stayed in the Lightkeeper’s Cottage and we had a wonderful time. The lighthouse is stunning and the site is packed with historical goodness. Also, when you’ve finished exploring the grounds, there are so many other great things to do nearby. Overall, a really great experience in a beautiful unspoilt location!

This is such a fantastic place on the Great Ocean Road/ Otways tourist drive. Spectacular scenery and insights into life in the past when this place was so isolated.

Cape Otway Lightstation is an awesome structure .Built against the odds in such difficult terrain a century ago.The purpose to show the way through the treacherous waters of Bass Strait. Thus saving the lives of countless sailors & their passengers. An inspiring place to visit.

after spending 4 months in the Desert over seas, this has to be the most refreshing, calming holiday I have been on, Cape Otway is steeped in tradition, is central to all the activities in the Otway region and just a short drive to the twelve apostles and other tourist attractions.
It is a five star holiday on a shoe string budget

I took my neice there for her 30th Birthday and the two of us celebrated alone in the heritage accomodation with a gourmet meal provided by the lightstation. It was wonderful and the next morning we got up early and walked along the rest of the Great Ocean Walk which finishes at the Apostles. Everything was locked up when we left so we had to climb the big gates! It was a birthday she won’t forget - very special - and not “just a party” but “an experience to remember”.
