We have always enjoyed driving through the black spur admiring the tall gum trees lush green ferntrees.

Very pleasant drive that one might feel like travelling through an American redwood forest.

Our recent drive through this area, made us wonder why it had been so long since our last visit! The whole experience was awesome, followed by lunch in Marysville and a visit to one of the Yarra Valley wineries on the return trip. it won’t be very long before we return to repeat the experience and explore more of this wonderful area.

A great drivers road where you don’t need to go flat out to enjoy it.

A drive to refresh the spirit. Our overseas and interstate visitors love it. I can always find a reason to visit the area. Then continue to Marysville and round off a wonderful experience.

Its a beautiful drive, and there are so many wonderful places to stop along the way - be it walking tracks, tea houses, wineries, or the wide range of fresh produce stalls etc. A great place to visit, spectacular views, spectacular stops, and so close to Melbourne!

It’s a pity there is so much traffic on this magnificent road. Try the Acheron Way for a quieter experience

Drive through the Black Spur and listen to Ave Maria by Giulio Caccini off the ABC’s Swoon 3 cd and you will never forget it. Recently did this with some French visitors and they were totally awestruck. Do yourself a favour.

Travelled the Black Spur last weekend and I never get tired of it. It is just the most inspiring area to travel in in the sunshine and even rain.
