Victoria’s historic coastal town of Queenscliff is home to the world’s one and only Blues Train. It is a unique experience that combines four of Australia’s best live blues acts and the beautiful scenery of the Bellarine Peninsula on the Drysdale railway line while aboard a real moving vintage steam train. It is one of Australia’s most spectacular entertainment experiences. The Blues Train leaves Queenscliff Railway Station after guests have enjoyed a delicious meal complemented by fine Australian and local wines. The steam train then makes its way along 16 kilometres of track, gently rocking from side to side, seemingly in beat with the music. It’s a music festival in one night and a progressive party you’ll never forget. Suggested by: Desiree.

Starts off at Queenscliff and travels the peninsula. 4 carriages of great australian blues music, whilst wining and dining
best blues music experence had in forever, rockin the night away while the train transports you to drysdale and back, fantabulous
The blues train is the ultimate experience: yummy food, fantastic music, and the best company you’ll find in Victoria. Not only did the musicians and kitchen staff live up to all the hype I had heard but all the staff on the train, including Hugo himself, ensured that my mates and I had a great time… I’m addicted. The blues train has now become my home away from home.
A wonderful experience of fantastic music, great musicians and a nice meal with excellent organistion by Hugo and his team. Will go back again very soon, recommend it to anybody.
Best Girls Night Out in a long time! Great music and great crowd!
loved the experience, great bands, great atmosphere what more do you want on a night out
A great concept, even better when the Arthur T is pulling the Blues Train
What fabulous fun !!!!!!!
A fantastic experience !
What a great night. Was singing along all the way.
From the time you arrive to the time you leave the Blues Train is an extraordinary experience. The atmosphere is party party party!
Even if you don’t think you like Blues music - you will change your mind! The acts are of the highest calibre, full of passion and enthusiasm and certainly know how to gain audience participation. They were dancing in the aisles on the seats and in the carriage!
There is a meal included before you leave Queenscliffe, and plenty to drink form the Bar carriage - just right to get you into the party mood!
This most unique experience is the brainchild of Hugo who is a larger than life Host and knows how to gwt the party going!
If I were to give this points out of 10 - it would be 101 points! Victoria- THE place to be!!!!!
Music fantastic, concept of moving from carriage to carriage and groovin’ to the different artist, awesome. Highly recommend this to anyone, even if you’re not a Blues fan. Fantastic night out.
I would have to say that The Blues Train is one of the funnest things I have done. Apart from the gentle swaying of the train itself and the great scenery, the way you can get a bunch of musicians, a crowd and a whole lot of dancing in a train carriage is a wonder to behold!
I will go back every year!
The Blues Train is sooooooo much fun, would recommend it to anyone at any age. Something unique about rocking along the Bellarine Railway bobbing away to Blue Music. The atmosphere is purely one of fun. Swapping carriages gives you the opportuntiy to see all those performing in an intimate atmosphere that just makes you want to come back for more. A must do in my books.
It was a really great fun night, you just go to do it!
You have not experienced a good dance until you do it on a moving carriage. We ( 4 of us ) had one of the best night we could have hoped for
Thank you H.T.A.
I just love the laid back atmosphere, the great music and great people I encounter each time I ‘ride the train’. I love it and keep going back for more. Try it for yourself.
Best Time, Best Fun, Best Bands, Best Train… Will be on it again…
Blues and a train ride….fantastic
The Blues Train rocks! Choo choo
Always a brilliant line-up. Many of our best blues and roots acts start out on the train and return as stars.
Since accidentally coming across the Blues train on holiday many years ago and now living in Victoria I make sure all my friends from the UK take the trip when they come over. It is such a great experience - great food, atmosphere, scenery and music - all everyone could wish for in Autralian Hospitality.
Best entertainment and great food - very good value for money. Great weekend away.
Great night of variety, music and entertainment.
The most fantastic night out for a group and the bands are A1 - definite party animal stuff.
I have been on the Blues Train twice and are heading back in October for another ride. I love it and promote it to all my friends. Queenscliff is a beautiful place to visit and an experience not to be missed..
…because it is the kool thing to do!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best entertainment for value that you will find anywhere, My altime favourite would have to be Stringy Bark McDowell - what a legend !
If you don’t go and participate in this you haven’t lived …
Great food. Excellent entertainment. A really first rate experience. Will go again next time I’m in Victoria.
A fantastic experience. Great music, beautiful steam train, good food and wine. What more could one ask for. It certainly is a night out you will not forget! Get a group of friends together and try something really different!
The train rocks. I’ve been along for the ride three times and love it for the atmosphere, music, beer, beer and beer! Always an awesome night, I only wish there were a few more stops. Host Hugo does a great job. A must do!
It is a unique experience that combines four of Australia’s best live blues performers and the beautiful scenery of the Bellarine Peninsula on the Drysdale railway line whilst aboard a real moving vintage steam train. It is one of Australia’s most spectacular entertainment experiences. We had a ball and as locals to Queenscliff invite anyone to come and enjoy the fun that is The Legendary Blues Train
I think the Blues Train is a unique experience. To get to the station you travel through some of Victoria’s most beautiful countryside. Then, you experience food, wine, good local blues musicians on a heritage train. The journey the train takes is a visual treat. The whole thing is also good value. What more could you ask of a good day out?
Because the Blues train is the best.
Hi. The blues train was one of the best tourist gigs I have been on. the food was great, the music was fantastic, and having the 4 changes sampling 4 different musicial experieces was fantastic. Travelling on a steam train and drinking alcohol and enjoying music…what more could you want..Joe Bara
I took a friend with me on the blues train to celabrate my 50th birthday. We are both great fans of the blues and totaly enjoyed the entertainment immensely. The food was glorious with a wonderfull smorgasbord laid out to suit all tastes. We chose the accommodation pakage and we were very welcomed and well looked after. I would recomend this trip to anyone who is looking for something with a difference. You will have a hoot just as my friend and I did.
An experience not to be missed
We just had the best time on the Blues Train and they were so helpful when we had to cancel and reschedule as my partner had to have major surgery
Well done guys looking forward to doing it all over again (minus the surgery)
The Blues Train at Queenscliff is in a great location in general. The train itself is staffed by very friendly people, and the entertainers are simply fantastic!!!
Great music, great atmosphere, unique setting and soooooooo much fun!
Wicked fun…can’t wait to go again!
When getting there is half the fun, this journey is all fun. To be taken on a ride to nowhere accompanied by 4 great blues artists and bands aboard this historic railway. It is a great way to celebrate an aniversary, birthday, weekend away, or just to enjoy the atmosphere, this a number one tourist or music fan MUST DO !
Great concept and a great way to support local musicians. Get down and keep on rockin’. Toot toot!
What a way to spend a Saturday night boppin to some great music with friends. Can’t wait to go again!
I just love trains. Ever since l was l was a little girl l have always love trains. My mum and l would often go on train rides togehter and they were one of the most times that l have enjoyed.
Have been on this magnificent venue twice in 2 years. Great food, cold beer and, of course, fantastic blues acts. A “MUST DO” for those who haven’t !!
We have world class blues musicians in Australia and the Blues Train showcases many of them, which is great for the punters and great for the artists. It is a unique “venue”, has been running for a long time and we all know that it is harder and harder for musicians to get gigs and for punters to see great music.
I bought ticked for my parents anniversary, raved about it so much saying it was a night to remember, great food, fantastic music and good company, the best gift they ever received! Topping it next year is going to be hard! I might have to buy them each another ticket and tag along too!!
Get a few mates onboard and this is a great night to listen to music and have fun
We had such a great time with good friends, great music and lots of laughs and more laughs Everyone should do it at least once maybe twice or why not make it a regular thing.
The blues train was fun! it’s an experience…something you just don’t do everyday, which makes it even more enjoyable. Some would walk away from it and say hey, that was really good…others , just want to go back for more.
We are going back for more, because we want to have another taste of that experience.
The food was great, the music good for the soul, the train ride a bit of fun and the ambience fantastic.
I have been on the Blues train twice and we have decided to make it an annual event! We had so much fun…my stomach muscles still hurt from the laughing I did.
The bands are great, and Hugh is such a good host!
Well done!
See you next year!
Shelley
We have been on the Blues Train twice and on both occassions we had diifferent musicians. Each time we travelled on the train we met some fantastic people and had a really great time. I highly recommend it, whether you are travelling as a group, a couple or by yourself. The food is wholesome, the music suits all tastes, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the experience is one that can be repeated again and again, as it is different every time….We will be back!!
I have travelled with friends on the train 3 times now and looking forward to the 4th. A great night out.
Wow- what a night! Yummy food, friendly staff, great music and a progressive party you won’t forget. 4 carriages with an excellent blues act on each one. We’ll be going again for sure!! 5 stars
I celebrated my 60th birthday on the Blues Train together with 17 friends. EVERYONE said how much they enjoyed it. I’d say it was probably the best birthday I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to do it again!
The Blues Train - a great experience.
The noise, the smell, the atmosphere, the scenery, the tastes and the MUSIC.
What a fantastic combination for a great night out.
The Blues Train combines the best of tourism, it supports blues music, historical significance, fantastic views, friendly staff and is easy to access. Having traveled overseas often and been to some of the best music venues in the world, the Blues Train equals those.
10 out of 10. We were a group of 12 from Bendigo, and all agreed that it was the best fun we have had at such an event. The organisation was fantastic with so many people being served, fed etc. The meal was great, music was fabulous and all the staff friendly. We danced, sang and drank to our hearts’ content. Have recommended it to everyone.
the combination of great music, great scenery & a magnificent steam train make this a must do experience. the most fun i’ve had standing up.
After a few drinks and a meal at Queenscliffe Station the train gently rolls off to begin the journey. The ocean views at the start of the trip are magic, and the fantastic music is backed up by the clickety- clack of the train.
The views change from dusk to night.
Every one on the carriage seems to be of one mind. To have fun.
Lookingt forward to the next trip

Although I have never travelled the Blues Train my son is a regular performer and tells me of the wonderful people he meets. It is a unique Blues /music venue for people who never knew what `Blues’ was about and a unique tourist attraction.
Good to see that the old rattlers are being used and cared for after 100 plus years of service!
Went on the train with ticket purchased by kids for christmas, great gift, food was good, we were lucky & ended up in the dance carriage, what a terrific way to enjoy the blues. (The only thing that was a bit iffy was the toilet facilities, they could be vastly improved, ok for the blokes). Good company and great music
If you love trains, love music and are looking for something different this is the thing for you to try next. Fantastic!
I have been on the Blues Train at least five times over the past few years - and had the BEST time each and every time! How could you not enjoy this charming and fun journey? From the finest Blues Musicians (my favourite Jimi Hocking!), a great concept (four carriages, four bands), yummy food and plenty to drink if you choose (most people find they enjoy a glass or two by the end of the ride!!), and all organised with flare and fun (what more could you expect from the Fabulous Hugo T. Armstrong!!). It is the sort of night where people of all ages and music taste have fun - I have yet to hear anyone say at the end of the night that they didn’t have a great time. So go on - go on the fabulous Blues Train and have the night of your life!!
I think its a fantastic idea to combine train travel and blues music, you get to see more the one band/performer and changing carriages also makes for meeting more people.
The Blues Train is not only set in a distinctive Victorian location, but it utilises the stunningly beautiful Ballarine Penninsula Railway and also supports world class, Independant Australian Musicians!!!
The Blues train is one of the best nights out you’ll experience!!
After a sensational trip with SeaAll Dolphin swims where we discovered the best kept secrets of Pt Phillip Bay we boarded the Blues Train for one of the best nights of our lives. We stayed the night at the Queenscliffe Inn so we could party in to the night and had a late breakie before heading home to Melbourne
