The tunnel was built through solid rock in the 1880’s. Now you can follow in the miner’s footsteps and explore the tunnel on a candle lit tour.

After staying in Maldon, this was a must see tour and it was terrific!
I have been underground in numerous caves and mines and this rates highly and best relates the conditions that early miners faced.
