Being a city slicker the serenity and beauty of the national park allow us to escape the hustle and bustle of suburbia and enjoy nature.

I have fallen in love with the Mornington Peninsula. During the summer there are the beautiful sandy beaches with gentle waves lapping towards the shore. The park is really spectacular with its amazing sunsets and views towards the horizon. There are many things to see especially the wild life and the fauna. Just sitting and looking and seeing around you is peaceful and relaxing. What a wonderful place to visit and get in touch with mother nature.

Amazing, wild end of the peninsula with unexpected buildings, tunnels and stairs leading to breath-taking views of the bay on one side and the ocean on the other. Great walk from the car park and a good thing to do in the winter months; cold, quiet and wind-swept but gorgeous on a clear day.

There was a great battle to Save all of Point Nepean as a National Park and it was a really tough fight.
Thousands of people were involved including myself.
Finally the last piece is set to be handed over from the Federal Government either the end of this year or next year and I for one will breathe a huge sigh of relief that such an important site will have the highest form of protection, for future generations.

Rocky outcrops, rolling landscape, and jewel seas. Absorb the view, the feeling and also the history of Victoria all in one vista. Cameras cannot take in as much as the naked eye reveals in this great park land. All only an hour from the CBD.

A beautiful spot to listen to jazz on a Sunday afternoon.
Beautiful and peaceful place to walk and admire some of the old historical buildings. A great place to spend a weekend away.

It is such a rugged coastline that is very unique and challenging to exercise because you cannot take your eyes off the horizon.

Tyabb Packing House Antiques was a perfectly timed experience. I have been searching the internet and scrounging around any old shops I can find in Brisbane to do some decorating at home. Walking into this treasure trove was like a dream come true. I can’t wait to go back and spend the whole day there and I think I can get there from Melbourne by train - BONUS!

Unbelievable view of the heads and the ships from very close up. A view that some of us have waited a lifetime to see and enjoy.

This has to be one of the most beautiful places in Victoira. I have walked around it and used the Transporter and evert time I find something different. Last time I saw the place from where Harold Holt dissapeared in 1967. This place has so much history.

Absolutely love this National Park. The tractor ride is fantastic for the kids and the tunnels are amazing. The history of the Point is facinating and presented in a manner that engages the kids. The walk and the views are some of the best in the worls and I have done a bit of traveling.

I have been to Point Nepean National Park on a number of occasions and am always amazed at the diversity of things to see from the QE2 coming through the heads, the wildlife wandering down the road and the Tunnels, so many tunnels, the kids just love it, and so do I.

We recently loaded the children in the car, took the bikes and visited the Pt Nepean NP. Great to see the place where the bay and ocean meet. The boys loved the canons and the fort they didn’t realise they cycled 10 km return, over some pretty steep hills. Worth a visit!

I enjoy the diversity of the park, it has the natural environment and then enormous cultural diversity from early european settlement with the Fort and Quarentine Station

A unique experience that includes spectacular views of both ocean and bay beaches and of course, the notorious Rip, the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. It is home to Fort Nepean, a fantastic place to explore and also, the historic Quarantine Station. A great adventure, suitable for people of any age or ability. Regular transporters carry visitors along this 5 kilometre route, or the more active can walk or cycle (BYO cycle or hire available). I can highly recommend this beautiful place as a “must do”!

Tunnels and forts to explore. Nature walks coastal walks and landscape. Views of the Rip, Bass Strait and Port Phillip Bay.As a fortified area and quarantine station, Point Nepean was out of bounds to the public for more than 100 years. Then in 1988 it was opened as part of a new Mornington Peninsula National Park. Historic military tunnels adjoining fortifications on coastal beachheads, magnificent bay and ocean scenery are yours to enjoy. The park provides an array of transport options, whether it is a unique open air transporter, cycling or walking. Point Nepean offers insights into our history and heritage through its association with aboriginal occupancy, early European settlement, shipping, quarantine and defence.

My vote is because Point Nepean National Park is so historic in the development of Victoria.

Sailing ships from overseas and of course from the other settled parts of Australia requiring quarantine of people with disease from ships before going up the bay to Melbourne.

The other is the fortifications during the Crimean War period to protect us from a potential Russion invasion and later the two world wars remaining buildings some now in disrepair.

Again we have the National Park with magnificient views across the Rip to Queenscliff with shipping passing by just spectacular.

I have worked in numerous parts of the state and find this to be a very significant location, rich in history, both indigenous and european. The park is awesome and has great views and floristic and fauna values.
