Stretching 300km from Torquay to Peterborough, the Great Ocean Road is one of the world’s most scenic drives. The road wind’s over cliff tops, through headlands, down by the beach, across rivers and through rainforests with spectacular views at every turn.

My partner and I drove down the Great Ocean Road all the way to Port Campbell last weekend, and the views are stunning! Around every turn the magnificent coast can be seen. Suddenly you start driving through the bush, and before you know it the coast comes out of nowhere. A must see!
It has always been my No 1 recommendation for anyone visiting Victoria.
Living at the Geelong ending I am stunned when locals don’t even think of taking their visitors down it.
Being well travelled there are only one or two drive like this in the world, with great food to boot!
it is a beautiful scenic area although i find the road a bit dangerous to travel on.
The Great Ocean Road is a great drive. The scenery all along it is superb. All the towns are lovely. Each town is different but each has their own unique style. The road itself is a good road to drive on and all items of interest are marked clearly. The best
great ocean road drive
Whilst it is both exhilarating and challenging to navigate the long windy Great Ocean Rroad, the rugged coastline, scenic views, and the 12 apostles transport you to a magical serence dream.
Theres so many secluded scenic spots to visit on the drive along the Great Ocean Road. Stopping off in the Otway ranges was definately a highlight!!!!!
The scenery always changes, but is the same. Every drive along the Great Ocean Road is different and there are so many things to see, from the sear rock walls, to the mist over Apollo Bay, or the ever changing sea. Its just breath taking!
We have travelled the great Ocean Road many times. Even when the kids were little and throwing up!
The wondrous views continue to draw the eyes to that beautiful coastline. Colours constantly change.
The little Townships along the way provide great stop-over nooks and places of interest.
Never tire of driving along this spectacular coastline.
The Great Ocean Road is the road trip we take every international visitor on and they all say it’s the highlight of their holiday.
Fabulous scenery and great surf beaches
We have travelled most of Australia and still love to come back here. The scenery is stunning and it’s on our doorstep, we are so lucky.
A few years ago i did the great vic bike ride along the great road and what a experience.
My wife and I have traveled this road once before on a holiday we had to Melbourne back in 2003. It was one of the most scenic and pituresque drives we have had. To see the 12 Apostles was a major highlight of the trip. We would recommend it very highly to anyone who are thinking of the drive.
There is nowhere else like it in the world, breathtaking and natural beauty at its best.
The Great Ocean Road is beautiful no matter what conditions. When it rains it is just as majestic as being able to get out in the heat and see all the rock pools and incredible up close sights.
possibly the most spectacular natural view in Victoria. The different terrain you go through alone from melbourne to the end of the road is impressive…gives a good insight into the diversity of flora/fauna in australia
This is the most stunning drive in the world, with a beauty and rawness that only the Australian environment could produce.
The views are spectacular with plenty of great places to visit and stay
The greatest drive in the world that you can take.
Our family 2 Adults 2 children travelled on the great ocean road at xmas 07, the experience was great (4 stars) and will holiday again somewhere on the great ocean road in the near future.

gorgeous views, and so many brilliant seaside towns to pop in to
gorgeous view. fresh air. sightseeing at your own pace. what more can you ask for?
We did this trip on our 12th wedding anniversay. At first we were not going to stop at every look-out thinking they would all be the same. To our suprise and delight every one of them was uniquely different. We were gob-smacked at the beauty of them all. Seeing the sheer size of the cliff faces and the thundering waves was a very humbling experience. It was also a nice opportunity to befriend people from all over the world as we often met up with the same people at each stop. We had the nicest lunch at Apollo Bay in this lovely upstairs cafe` looking out over the water. Everythink about the trip was just so special. I recommend it as a must see for anyone who loves the beauty of creation.
Great Ocean scenery a beautiful scenic drive while driving along one the Great Great Ocean Road.
one of the worlds great treasures, and its in our backyard
A beautiful drive, fantastic scenery and many great places to stay.
No matter what the season this areas is stunning and different each time I visit.
I voted for the Great Ocean Road. Seeing the 12 apostles when I was young was a magnificent site. Mum told us the story about the sailor and the passenger climbing the cliffs after the ship ran on the rocks. So the memory of seeing that has stayed in my memory. I can’t wait to share this beautiful part of Victoria with my own children
Scenic drive. The air is so fresh!
we have just had a few days away and this is about the 6th time we have driven the Great ocean road. It still takes my breath away. This was the first time i had seen the 12 apostles at sunset and they were beautiful.
It is a most enjoyable drive.
We get to see the twelve sisters while they still remain.
One of the essential road trips for anyone living in Australia, well worth the price in fuel for the view alone.
The GOR exhibits what Australia is all about, raw beauty, breath taking views and someones dream carved fom the hills and cliffs.
Truly amazing words cant do it justice….
This road is awesome, everyone should have or should drive down this fantastic and the most exciting road ever. The views are so outstanding, my family have been on that road so many times, and it never gets boring, so much to admire. This is a must for all drivers and their families, if you haven’t as yet, then put it on your next travelling list. Something which should not be missed.
It was an immense pleasure while I was driving from Warnambool to Port Cambell (twelve epistle). The scenic beauty and natural craft work at twelve epistle and memorial bay given me an enormous joy. It took millions of years to amke this natural craftwork for wind and water and I am the witness of these. It also given me great happiness.
A variety of places to stop, things to do mixed in with great places to eat and wiens to drink. What more could you wnat on a holiday…go with the family or even better with your partner
the great ocean road is my favorite destination to get rid of stress from work and personal issues .i once had a friend who was so stressed he was ready to snap .i suggested to him to come for a drive with me along the great ocean road and then into the rainforest and listen to the crashing waves and view the most fantastic scenery in the world.he was cured of stress by the end of our day trip and now we go often ,he cannot stop thanking me

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful and great place to send tourists
We drove it in the rain, wind and even some hail. We loved it, what an adventure!

This is the most magnificent drive with so many things to see and do along the way whether travelling on your own, as a couple or with the family. Hard to beat anywhere!
Wilson Promontary in May. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. My wife and I spent a couple of days at the Prom. If you want total relaxation from noise, go to the Prom in May. Much to see and there are hundreds of bush walks to do. Go there Victoria……
I’m lucky enough to have to drive this road regularly as part of my trip from Melbourne to Lorne where I patrol as a surf lifesaver.. but I never get sick of it. As soon as I spot the ocean from the road a feeling of calm comes over me. It would have to be the most spectacular yet calming drive ever…
This would have to be the most spectacular drive
Not only is the Great Ocean Road a beautiful drive with wonderful scenery and marvellous attractions, I can’t help thinking back to when it was built, and all the hard work by hundreds of men. It also brings back memories of my father, from a photo taken in 1946 of him and his mates riding their motorcycles along this fabulous road.
The majestic beauty and power of the ocean, together with the calming peace of the waves crashing into the amazing rock formations. Any time we have visitors from overseas, we take them down the “ocean road” - they are always more than impressed.
A really wonderful scenic drive, with lots of things to see,One of the most amazing drives I have been on.
the scenery is just magnificent along its entire length and it is a tribute to the ww1 returned soldiers who built it.
One of the most scenic sights in Victoria. A relaxing drive with heritage towns and B&B’s nestled away on the coast.
During the winter, with the waves lapping the shoreline and the wind howling is fantastic. There are many stops to be made along the Great Ocean Road with inlets and historical plagues with information telling you about the trials and tribulations endured to get there.
Fascinating for all young and old
Enjoy it in a day or take your time and make it a touring holiday.
Either way you get the benefits and the excitement of time past
The great ocean road trip is the best way to explore the Victoiran coast by car or even better by motorbike.. True freedom
This drive is without a doubt one of the best in Australia. There are magnificent views at every twist and turn and the many walking trails and boardwalk areas provide access to some of the most spectacular views i have ever seen. i recommend it to all my visitors as i think it is just spectacular
My husband and I have travelled quite a few times through the great ocean road and whether the weather is good or not it still never fails with it’s magnficent views.Never get sick going up there and never will.
My husband and I ventured along this road and we must have been travelling with our jaws dragging along the roadside. Port Campbell and Port Fairy were our favourite. TThe scenery was great as were the people in all places we stopped for the night. Living just 5 minutes from the Hazelwood power station it was a privilidge and a dream when our kids chipped in for a spell away from our home. we have been away from our home 5 times now in the 29 years we’ve lived in Yinnar. I didn’t know that the Great ocean road was home to such splendour, the shows on Tv never really do it justice. The area just past the Apostles is spectacular, it reminded me of cakes with icing sugar dripping down the sides.(yep, I do have a sweet tooth.) Apollo Bay is perfect for a romantic getaway, the jetty or pier with the fantastic carvings on the foreshore are wonderful to stroll along before having dinner and wine in one of the pubs there. What more could an old chook like me wish for. Yep it was spectacular and awe inspiring at the same time; a change from the open cut in our area.
The reason l voted for thereat ocean road ,was because if you drive down this great road there is so much for the kids to look at and less stressfull for me because there is less of ‘ mum are we there yet?’ It’s got the thumbs up from me.
There is nothing in the world than driving along the Great Ocean Road the views are out of this world to see
Ibelieve the journey along the Great Ocean Road is the closest thing to heaven providing the ultimate opportunity to relax and take in the beautiful views even before you arrive to your destination and regardless of the weather. To be able to travel so close to the gorgegous Australian rugged coastline on one side and enjoy the natural bush including the occassional koalas …magic!
My husband and I work long hours and weekends so when we get away there is nothing nicer than the relaxing drive along the ocean road then staying at one of the spectacular accommodation venues on the way There are also some magnificent eating venues along the road to enjoy.
This drive is without a doubt the best Victoria, if not Australia, has to offer. Its magnificent views at every twist and turn leaves you in awe of the natural beauty on offer by our country. It is a spectacular journey everyone should expeience at least once in their lifetime.
A constant reminder of how truly wonderful a state we live in. You’ll have this marvellous sense of freedom and beauty nowhere else in Australia.
The Great Ocaen Road has so much to do and see…………it is a must for all families to visit…very beautiful.
The Great Ocean Road coastline is a NATURAL WONDER! We visit every year and always marvel at the views. We always impress our international visitors (family and friends) when we take them along the magnificent Great Ocean Road. We know this because when we’ve visited them, they have many framed (enlarged) photographs of our scenic coastline, the Apostoles, etc. on their walls and they rave about it being the best! Such compliments!!!
This is the most spectacular coastline in Australia. Everyone is gobsmacked!
I think that whether you live in Victoria or if your just visiting the main thing that anyone should do is drive along the Great Ocean Road. I live
