The Milawa Gourmet Region is a food and wine lover’s paradise which includes the Milawa Cheese Factory, Milawa Mustards, Milawa Olives and Brown Brother’s Epicurean Centre.
Brown Brothers Epicurian Centre has excellent food and wine and friendly professional staff - a great lunch experience. Sam Mirandas at Oxley is another lunchtime must , and the best coffee in the North East is made by Pat at the Old Butcher’s Shop in Milawa.

the staff at Brown Brother’s epicurean centre and cellar door are absolutely delightful and outstandingly courteous. I have only eaten there on Saturdays and would have to send my compliments to the chef whose attitude and service must inspire both the kitchen and floor staff to the great heights they reach. Likewise the cellar door staff are unfailingly charming in the assiduous manner they present these delicious wines. A fantastic experience every time in a beautiful environment.

Sam Miranda winery at Oxley is a great family owned winery, and restaurant. I can thoroughly recomment their platters. Then head into Milawa for great local produce at the Cheese Factory (great food also available on their deck overlooking farmland) and also Milawa Mustards.Fantastic. Brown Bros is also close by and the vineyards of Glenrowan - Kelly Country! Enjoy

Always a wonderful treat on long weekends or lazy sundays is a trip to my nearby gourmet region of Milawa. Spectacular food and wine at Brown Bros each season i have ventured there to sample their menus with family and friends. Gorgeous views across scenic vineyards, especially late in the arvo as the sun is setting. A taste testing trip to Cheese Factory and Milawa Mustards is so economical (ha!) and wonderful fun too! Have travelled and seen a great deal of our wonderful state and I feel so lucky to live nearby these wonderful must-do’s!

The wines are good - the food is excellent; also the winery itself is a pleasant place to visit. The whole of the Milawa is a great place to visit for a weekend away.

Brown Brothers is a fabulous winery for tasting. The staff are really helpful and take the time to explain each wine. We visited all the food trail places and found their products excellent, be it the cheese, bread, mustards (loved the really hot one) and olives.

Milawa and surrounds is a fantastic place to visit as a day trip from melbourne or to stay a few days. Its great in all weather as there are fabulous walks and places to ride bikes on autumn days, or take your time at the many wineries and produce stores on winter afternoons. Fancy a step back in time - there is also meadery close by where delicious flavoured honeywine is available to sample.

We have holidayed in this region every year for about ten years. There is so much great food in this region; we usually tend to spend our days driving from one meal to the next. Not to mention the scenery in the mountains, from Bright, to Buffalo, Harrietville and beyond!

I recently stayed in this gorugous hotel in Milawa, next to Brown Brothers. I hadn’t heard of it before and am so glad we found it.
It’s in the heart of the Milawa gourmet region, and was our perfect base to explore the surrounding regions. The restaurant food was some of the best we had on our trip, the service is so intimate, the staff knew our names and were so friendly, it really made our stay. The hotel it’s self has some wonderful art and has been beautifully decorated, the rooms are spacious and look out to their vineyard. We got a case of the 2003 Merlot, which is grown on the vineyards that we were looking out too.
The region is so delightful and the sun sets were stunning. A top spot in Northern Victoria

Milawa is a “food lovers paradise”, so make sure you have plenty of spare space in the car, in order that you can stock up on goodies to take home. You certainly don’t want to deprive yourself of the opportunity of enjoying the many delights, long after you have left the region. Milawa Mustards is one of the most divine produce stores in the entire of country Victoria! If you love mustard, you will truly adore this store. No visit to Milawa is complete without visiting Milawa Cheese Company - not only will you discover an extensive selection of cheeses to suit every taste, but the Bakery sells a fabulous selection of top quality bread. Every Australian knows and loves Brown Brothers, so why not visit the Cellar Door and then enjoy a delightful meal at the Epicurean Centre. Walkabout Apiaries sells a variety of exquisite tasting honey fresh from the hives. And there is so much more ….. but these are my favourites!
