I love Echuca and the Murray River. To hear the toot toot of the paddlesteamer whistle and the lapping of the water wheel is so calming. We have been on several, my daughter loved the Canberra as she got to drive the boat and got a certificate from the Captain. Ah the serenity.

My parner has never been on a paddle steamer, i have in Echuca but not since i was 14. I thought it was something that both he and myself would enjoy and would also cheer him up and be a great experience.

What an experience whther it be a day out for the family or a romantic getaway for
a couple, the Murray and it’s paddlesteamers, can fill the hearts of so many. I suggest romance to take place aboard the P.S Emmylou for a sunset cruise where you can dine in style as the beauty of the riverbeds pass you by.
Whilst during the day take out the children to experience the history of how Melbourne survived before trucks to to the highways, Children will learn so much more than any classroom could ever achieve

Yes, Echuca has a great array of Paddleboats, but as to does Mildura!
With a much wider expanse of river, and a Lock and Weir to travel trhough onboard the Paddle Steamer Melbourne makes it an experience of a lifetime, and definately a must see and do!
The P.S Melbourne was built in 1912 and still runs with its original boiler, which is a magical experience and only one you can witness in the greatness that is the Murray River at MILDURA!

Sitting on the back deck of the Emmylou, sipping wine and eating a delicious meal while the paddle steamer makes her way along the Murray River is my most relaxing and fulfilling experience in Victoria. There is something magical about enjoying a modern meal on a historical paddle steamer surrounded by the Australian bush.

I was fortunate to be able to sample an overnight cruise on the Emmylou. I must say that waking up on a still clear morning on the paddlesteamer and listening to the sounds of the birds and a glorious sunrise was a unique experince not to be missed. I would encourage everyone to experince the beauty and serenity of the Murray River. It is not hard to understand how the Koories have such an affinity to the mighty Murray River.

We must have had trips on all the boats in Echuca over the years -and keep going back with visitors from overseas. They are all good, offering different experiences depending on the season and the mood of the river.
