This tiny island is home to historic buildings, beautiful gardens and farm animals. It is also the site of the local farmers’ market held on the fourth Saturday of each month, as well as the Working Horse and Pioneer Festival (Easter) and Garden Lovers’ Festival (November).

Must do is go to Churchill Island especially during the Easter Working Horse Festival where the whole family can enjoy the activities for a great day out & other times of the year you can have yummy afternoon tea or lunch on the balcony then check out the homestead & go for walks along the tracks or attend the Carols by Candlelight or market day. (take sunscreen, hat, jacket & repellant) . I rate this as 4.5 out of 5, I made an error with the curser & it wouldn’t let me change the vote.

This island has such beauty about it. During summer you can sit under the Moonahs and hear the voices of the ancient ones. It’s a Magical Island. There are markets there and Festivals. And sometimes the island rocks! Just come and have a look. You will find something special about this place.

This little island is absolutely beautiful! The volunteers provide a great insight into the heritage homestead and the historic background of the island. The highland cattle and other farm animals are fantastic. Its great when the farming activites are running- the kids will love it!

A little pocket of Victoria that is a secret to those in the know! It is simply stunning and a beautiful spot for a picnic. I’ve also seen weddings there. The views are unbeliavable and the gardens gorgeous. Not to mention the friendly ultra skilled working dogs that are an entertaining addition to this special place.

What a great supprise , I didn’t know it was there until our kids bought a holliday for my wife and I, with entrance to Churchill Island Heritage Farm. To see how things were done back then, was a real eye opener.

Churchill Island has a Farmers Market on the 4th Sat of the month, it would have to be one of the prettiest markets, set right on the water. Pile the kids in the car, there is a great face painter there. For the best sourdough, delectable olives, fresh fruit & veg, meat, soap, lavender, fabulous nougat, blueberries fresh eggs, cakes & biscuits, wine & beer. Hot food, music flowers and plants. The stallholders travel from all over, from the wee small hours with happy smiling faces to greet you.=, come and say Gidday!

I went to Churchill Island last weekend and met Gorden the farm manager. Gordon and the other workers were great. They put on great farming demos like working dogs. Kids loved it.

    Well worth a visit.

Churchill Island is a hidden treasure and I encourage everyone to visit the Island and enjoy the beatifu views from the cafe after they have visited the historic homestead, petted the baby animal in the nursery and strolled throught he heritage gardens.
