Watching the football is the only chance I get to scream, rant and rave and not stand out from the crowd. We all love to be vocal and let our feelings out while watching the great Aussie game of football

It was one of the things I wanted to do when I visited Australia and managed to get booked up for the Essondon v Lions game at the Telstra Dome and had a brilliant time. I knew the basic rules from seeing games & highlights on the television but watching it life was amazing.

When yyou have two boys living in Melbourne what else do you do? Going to the footy, living the atmosphere and taking in all that adrenaline from a packed stadium is far better than sitting at home on the lounge watching the TV.

The AFL game is spectacular. It’s fast, physical and the spectator becomes involved. You get to see the game where every part of the ground is in view. This can not be acheived watching it on TV. The other benefit of going to see an AFL game is watching and being part of the crowd. The crowd provides just as much entertainment as the Footy does.

Aussie Rules is so infectious and attending a game at the “G” is quite the experience. This is one event I etch in to the agenda of all my international guest , but to make it the best Aussie rules experience would have to be a Collingwood clash with Essendon or Carlton

Nothing else can match the excitement, noise & atmosphere of a cauldron of two team’s supporters, watching the gladiators do battle The Arena. ANZAC Day & Grand Final Day especially bring out all emotions.

Football at the ‘G - nothing like walking up those steps and the big green expanse comes into view. The roar of the crowd as the ball is bounced to start the game - sends shivers down your spine. And the challenge of not having the four and twenty land in your lap sauce side down.Carn the Kangas!

My 7yo is right into the footy, it is a great way to spend time with him. Also, it is a unique experiance to take overseas visitors/work associates to, they come away amazed at the speed and free flowing style of the game, they normally comment that they have never seen anything like it. There is nothing like a sunny afternoon at the G with a large crowd.

Taking international guests to a game of Aussie Rules Football is a great way of introducing them to 50,000 passionate locals and immersing them in our city’s sporting culture. AFL is such a unique action packed game - more often than not the response at the end of the game is “How can I get tickets for tomorrow’s game.”
