We stayed recently and had an amazing time. I could quite happily LIVE in one of the chalets! Waking up to the fabulous views was so memorable and the retreat had everything you could wish for. Nothing is too much trouble for Ron and Jo either - in fact Ron’s a bit of an expert with the log fire which hubbie couldn’t quite manage to master! We had such a great time we were sad to leave! We’ll be back again :-)

I recently stayed at Boroka Downs to celebrate my 30th birthday (which actually turned into a double celebration because I proposed to my girlfriend at the same time) and it was fantastic. The accommodation and location are fantastic. Ron and Jo are superb hosts where nothing is too much hassle for them. A 5 star weekend at a 5 star location at 5 star accommodation. We’ll definitely be back!!!!

We stayed at Boroka Downs on our honeymoon and it was by far the best place we stayed. It was beautiful with complete seclusion, and the service providers friendly and helpful. We will definately be coming back at the first opportunity we get!

I have recently enjoyed my 3rd visit to Boroka Downs, it is the most amazing experience. Hosts Jo and Ron are deeply committed to the environment and I congratulate them on achieving the Green Star accreditation. Each visit there is
a new project underway to improve the guest experience or the enviromental impact. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better…….

We were delighted when a friend recommended Boroka Downs - the views are spectacular, they are in fact, food for a worn down soul - rejuvinating - a blessing encompassed by caring hosts who are happy to attend to you as you require, nothing is a problem, a smile is always welcoming any enquiry - how refreshing :) Keep up the amazing work guys, both in nuturing your guests and the environment - inspiring!

I have heard wonderful things about this resort from friends and people I have met travelling. I have not heard anything at all in a negative eg. oh the view is great but …. - never a ‘but’ after any comment.
I have met the couple who run the resort and they are very friendly and easy going and nothing would be too much trouble for them. My only regret in that area is that they did not choose a resort to manage closer to my home town of Cairns so that I could enjoy their hospitality more often. I look forward to getting down there, its a definite on my list.

Everything was wonderful - Ron & Jo certainly know how to make one feel special. After battling breast cancer, this was the perfect ‘pick me up’ and we can recommend Boroka Downs unreservedly for any couple needing to be revitalised!

This place is better then Barrington & the Blue Mountains, and some of those ‘bush ranger’ stories that Ron told me were legendary. Would recommend Boroka Downs to anyone as a must do getaway.

This place is amazing. The stunning views, the birds, the roos… I woke up to a kangaroo right by the bedroom window, almost close enough to touch. I loved sitting in the (HUGE!) spa with just candles to light the room. The floor to ceiling windows meant it felt like we were bathing with the mountains. Every single thing has been thought of to make the stay perfect, from beautiful glassware, hot chocolate, olive oil and vinegar, gorgeous lotions and creams, huge breakfast provisions, enough fluffy towels to keep you going for a week… I could go on and on. Our bucket of kindling and fire wood was refilled whenever we ran low, and the anniversary picnic hamper we ordered was sensational - again EVERY single detail thought of. Ron and Jo were amazing, charismatic, lovely and passionate about their private paradise in the Grampians, but they never intruded - our time and space were our own. They really made our experience amazing because of all the thoughtful touches. We’ll definitely be going back.

Boroka Downs resort would be one of the most idealistic places to spend a much needed holiday. Surrounded by spectacular views , peace and tranquillity ,wildlife and accomadation that surpasses any place that we have visited in our travels. It’s heaven.

We arrived in Baroka Downs after driving from Melbourne and we were absolutely shattered. We couldn’t believe that we found and lived in Paradise for just a short time. If heaven is like that, then its got to be the best place to go to! We enjoyed our stay immensely. Ron went out of his way to ensure that my husband could have wheelchair accessibility and provided the special matting to achieve this. Jo provided us with a most nourishing breakfast and also as a special favour, dried our washing and even pressed it. We couldn’t have had better hosts! We hope to return again one day from the UK, especially to see the kangaroos, emus and all the other pretty, colourful birdlife. Thank you so much for sharing with us your wonderful haven! Best wishes to you both and good luck with your chickens. I know you will get some beautiful fresh eggs daily. We do! Ben & Katherine Patten.

I cannot think of a better place for visitors from overseas, or indeed from around Australia, to experience a piece of what Boroka Downs has to offer in the way of a truly “great escape and taste of Australia, five star style”.

We couldn’t have asked for better hosts in Ron and Jo. From the moment we set foot on the retreat to the time we were ready to say goodbye, the service we received was unbeatable. Ron and Jo allow you to set the terms in exactly how much contact you would prefer over the duration of your stay. The accommodation is first class and the views of nature and wildlife are priceless. We will definitely return to this oasis.

Happy to vote for Boroka Downs. As a neighbour and practising artist across the valley I see a different prespective of Boroka Downs.I value environmental asthetics and this accommodation structure sits comfortably into the natural landscape.I see these unique buildings every day and the view doesn’t complicate or offend me visually.Jo and Ron are delightful ,considerate and caring neighbours and as business operators I know they would make me very welcome if I were to stay at Boroka Downs. It would be a luxury holiday with an incredible experience even though I would be looking across the valley back to my home!!!

Couldn’t agree more with all the comments so far. Ron & Jo were genuinely interested in ensuring we had experienced a small amount of what turned them into tree changers.

A place to enjoy the silence and unwind from the stresses of work and the city. We will definitely be returning.

My wife found this place so peacefull. We felt we were alone and with the birds and kangaroo’s outside our windows everything was perfect for a wind down restfull weekend.
The place its self was so clean and had literally every thing we needed as well as the open fire at night with the bottle of wine was most enjoyable.
Our requests were promptly dealt with and nothing was in the to hard basket.
I have already recommended this location to numerous people both at work and in our own social setting as a definite place to go to.

Boroka Downs is a total escape from the bizz of everday life. My partner and I have stayed there twice in the last 2 years and just love it. The house is a real taste of luxury whilst being a real home from home - in fact it’s better than home!

Have stayed here once before and are currently organising our elopement here for later this year. Wonderful, magic place, fantastic views and the best hosts in all of Victoria. You don’t need to leave your accommodation, but the most amazing walks and scenery await you if you do. We can’t wait for November!

We celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary at Boroka Downs 12 months ago, and everything about it is five star. In terms of locale, what can one say, except that it scores 10 out of 10 for ‘position, position, position’! We enjoyed the magnificent landscape without having to leave our chairs, or bed for that matter. We barbecued and enjoyed our meal with some local reds in front of the log fire, and visited some of the magnificent Victorian tourist attractions which are but a kangaroo hop away. Congratulations Jo and Ron on your recent achievements. I hope we can return to Boroka Downs.

I stayed at Boroka Downs over Easter and it was one of the most wonderful mini-breaks I have had. The venue is superb, the scenery stunning and the hosts are wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to recharge and unwind. I drove all the way from Canberra and it was worth every kilometre! BD is really deserving of the accolades it receives.

We loved our stay at Boroka Downs. The small touches like a fresh rose on our breakfast basket made it good but the accommodation, views and quietness were all more than 5 star.

My husband and I were married at Boroka Downs in August last year. We had the most beautiful, luxurious experience. The hosts, Ron & Jo made us feel so welcome and they went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. The attention to detail in every aspect of our accomodation made our holiday really special and it is such a romantic place for couples. We highly reccomend Boroka Downs.

We stayed at Baroka Downs a couple of years ago. My husband I believe it was one of the most relaxing and luxurious retreats we have stayed at. The combination of modern, stylish, self contained cabins, with the peacefulness and serentiy of nature at your door step.

Coming from the uk it seemed a big risk to book somewhere for a week based on a website. I just wish we had been braver and booked for longer - heavenly week. The views wondereful and waking to kangaroos peering in at us a joy… I dont know if I will ever have the chance to say again “theres an emu in the garden …no there are 3 emus” but we hope to return…..and the humans (Jo & Ron) wonderful too

Simply a stunning, contemporary design of accommodation with all the features you come to expect to find in the top hotels. Even with all the modern gadgets, the atmosphere is relaxing and homely.

Cottages are spaced far enough away from each other to create your own sanctuary where you feel at home with nature. There is an abundance of wildlife who often visit the cottage to say hello! The views from all cottages are simply stunning and the sunsets are one of the best I have seen.

The hosts are wonderful! They make sure that your every need is attended to whilst also providing you with space and privacy.

The huge spa boasts fantastic views to the surrounding hills and landscapes, and the warm inviting fireplace sets the mood for a romantic evening.

Simply one of the best retreats that I have stayed at!!

Ashtonishing is the only word that comes to mind when I think of Boroka Downs. My hosts Ron and Jo are just something out of the box. Look it was simply the most wonderful holiday I have ever had, and to add to that, I popped the question and Linda said yes, so I will never ever forget this place. SIMPLY THE BEST.

I have stayed at Boroka Downs and think it is unreal. The hosts Ron and Jo made our wedding anniverary a memorable occasion. The redisidences alone made our stay special, they are so private, spacious and luxurious that you don’t have to leave the accomodation at all. We will definitely be returning.

It was our first visit to the Grampians, but won’t be our last. Boroka Downs lived up to how it is advertised on it’s Website. “Quiet serenity, indulgent 5 star comfort, stunning views & exhilarating wild life”. Why bother going overseas when we have resorts like this in our own backyard.

My wife (Mandy) and I visited Boroka with a pre-concieved idea of what to expect, well we were wrong. It was more than we expected, our host Ron and Jo Payne were fantastic without being intrusive and were always on hand to offer informed advice on places of interest in and around Halls Gap. The accommodation was exceptional and luxuriousand considering that there are five cottages on the property we still felt as if we had the entire property to ourselves.
One thing for certain Mandy and I will definately be return guests.

Amazingly beautiful location. The retreat is an escape to paradise, with exquisite accommodation and surroundings, leaving the guests wanting for nothing. The friendly and obliging hosts ensure your every need is met, with an amazing attention to detail. The modern five star cottages are complimented by the view and it is environment, with little need to leave the cottage as all your needs are satisfied, and relaxation, peace and quiet are in abundance. Certainly a place that will entice you too return.

A very private, luxurious retreat. Friendly and helpful hosts if you need them but otherwise just enjoy the very modern cottage along with its views of kangaroos and mountains. Set near the Grampians and only five minutes drive from a very good winery, the area has plenty to offer, but the cottage is difficult to leave and it is a pleasure to return.
