Bridgewater Beach is one of the best beaches in Australia located approximately 20 ks fromPortland in SW Victoria. Winter and summer it is a magnificent place to visit with kilomettres of golden sand and high cliffs at the Cape.

Cape Bridgewater beach is one of the top unspoilt beaches in Australia. It is secluded and surounded by spectacular cliffs. The water is clean and safe to swim in and the sand is white . Just walking on the beach makes you feel like your in another world.

If you want a piece of heaven on earth then this is the place. So serene and tranquil, unspoilt (unless the local community lost the battle over the wind farm). Great accommodation options. You can spend hours just enjoying the scenery without getting bored. Then there is the great south west walk which skirts the whole bay and the capes. RACV please do NOT have a big featture on the bay - lets keep it a secret (well almost) for those adventurers who can read a map.

This is a real favourite of the locals and tourists. It can lay claim to being one of the most scenic beaches in Victoria. It is patrolled in summer by the surf life saving club, the unsung heroes of many good beaches. It is a well known and safe surfing area with beautiful clean naturally occurring sand. It also is a calming and special place that can have a very meditative effect on those who don’t always venture into the water. Come and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

I voted for Lynda’s entry about the beauty of Bridgewater Beach because it truly is a magnificent, unspoilt beach that we in the Portland area just love and adore!

Bridgewater Bay must be one of Victoria’s most spectacular ocean beaches. Just 20km from Portland, a wide swath of sand sweeps around Bridgewater Bay for several kilometres - fantastic for a beach walk, you can even ride your horse, the surf is great but still safely swimable, the quaint cafe serves good coffee and snacks/light meals and a beer or wine can be enjoyed as well. There is a tour out to the seal colony on Cape Bridgewater that is a unique and fascinating experience - even blue whales come by at the right time of year! A truly favourite place for residents in the Portland area and visitors alike! So beautiful and restorative. But dont tell everyone!

It is a tapestry of sea, crashing waves over rocks, warm light and retiring sun on the magnificent backdrop of Cape Bridgewater.

Arguably one of the most picturesque bays in the world, with wide beaches, towering bluffs, seal colony, safe swimming beaches and neat surf, skirted by the Great South West Walk. One of Victoria’s best kept secrets.
