It seems one either loves Fed. Square or hates it. I love it!!! I love just being there and absorbing the colours, the textures, the space, the feel. I love being in such a modern space and being able to see the older traditional buildings (eg St Paul’s)near by. Then of course there is the Gallery and restuarants and entertainers all there to add to the experience.

Federation Square is the Centre of Melbourne. It is a brilliantly designed building that incorporates, the interesting, the unusual, the historic and the current. The really great thing that I have found about Federation Square is that most of the exhibitions and events are either free, or at little cost. There’s always something happening here, and always something new. It’s where you start when visiting Melbourne.

Federation Square is an amazing place and rivals any of the great piazzas of Europe. I love it and to all its detractors - they don’t know what they are missing!

Australian Centre for the Moving Image, located at Federation Square. Fantastic space for digital media displays, exhibitions, workshops, screenings etc. The level of interactivity with audiences is high. Their ongoing program adds a whole new dimension to Melbourne’s cultural life.

You need to see what the ‘big fuss’ was all about.
