   Boutique brewery in Victorian Hotel with beautiful accomodation and food, along with the great berr made on the premises. See the brewery in action!
   Woodend is a lovely town to visit less than 1 hour from Melbourne

   One of my favourite microbreweries - the winter ale is the bomb!
   Coupled with great location, food and accommodation, this place is a winner. Plus, our son was, uh, shall we say…born 9 months after staying here!!
   Nice.

   Holgate Brewery is a quaint pub hotel where they brew their own organic beer
   The accommodation is brilliant
   The food is great
   Their package deals are fantastic, I always organise 2 nights with a package for the 1st January race day at Hanging Rock, transportation is only 500m back at the train station
   The proprieters could not be friendlier and accommodating

   Gret B & B, complete with in house brewery with their brews on tap. Friendly staff complimented by a varied and plentiful menu selections from the bar or dining room

   Relax & enjoy locally brewed beer, restaurant & accomodation, they are all great reasons to visit Holgates all year round. A great place to relax.

   Holgate’s is great in summaer or winter- the drive up is great, the surrounds are lovely and the food and beer is tops! Never a disappointment!

    Great B & B with an inhouse Brewery too boot. ALl local brews are on tap and are worth sampling. Comfortable rooms withall you would require. Plentiful and varied meal selections from the bar menu and dining room make this establishment worthy of renewing acquaintances.

    Attached to the Holgate Hotel in the main
    street of Woodend, Victoria.
    Pleasant meals and surroundings and the tasting of the special beers brewed at the brewery.

    Super great out-of-town experience in the gorgeous and perfectly named Woodend. We enjoyed a very scrumptious dinner at the hotel (including one of the best desserts we have ever had), lots of original and tasty beers, and a highly interesting ‘lock in’ with the locals.

    This is the best place for hand crafted beers made with love and enthusiasm served in a beautiful old pub with great pub grub.

    Got on the Monash Fwy, and 75 mins later we cruised into Woodend and not one traffic light until we got there. Great country-style boutique hotel experience: crisp, fresh air; comfortable room; great food and wines; and of course, the SENSATIONAL BEERS!! Stayed the night, so didn’t have to drive home.

    Last weekend we visited the Holgate and enjoyed the food and beer, the double IPA @ 7 % was like Thwaites ‘Big Ben’

    Well worth a visit.

    A pub with a vast variety of naturally brewed boutique beers. Great in winter for a warm fire a good drink and great food

    A unique opportunity to stay in a village hotel with its own brewery, producing a superb range of beers for visitors to sample alongwith fine foods in the dining area. A quaint “olde world” bar area adds to the experience of a stay in the well appointed rooms with views to Mount Macedon or overlooking the village shops. A great place to escape for a weekend close to Melbourne.

    A magnificent reason to visit the Macedon Ranges and view them from the bar of the Keating’s Hotel while imbibing the local history and Holgate beers

    There is no better place to enjoy genuine crafted beers. Great honest food in a friendly welcoming environment and the beer engines are the way beer should be poured. Cheers!

    We had a great time. We stayed and had dinner for our friend’s 50th Birthday party. The food and accommodation was great.

    The package deal is great with accommodation, food and beer tasting thrown in. Especially good on a winters evening with the roaring fire in the bar. Will definitely be going again!

    Booked the overnight package of beer tasting, dinner, bed & breakfast and had a lovely weekend. The paddle of beer was a great way to learn about different beers, their different tastes and different ways of brewing them. The food here is very good - highly recommended.

    My partner and I had the BEST time here. Just stayed for one night on a package kinda thing and got dinner and a tasting paddle thrown in. The food was amazing, the beer was tasty and just enough to get us a bit tipsy, and the room was awesome, if not a teensy bit cold.

    Wonderful weekend experience with our neighbours - great food, wonderful atmosphere, dedicated hosts who took us on a personal tour of the brewery. Had a ball!

    Brilliant range of sensational beers that are just huuuge on traditional flavour! The bar is very relaxing and people friendly and the beer garden is out there!

    Naturally brewed beer, a resteraunt with fantastic food, an old style wooden bar, plenty of beers to choose from, you can see the brewery behind a glass wall!!!
    for city folk, this is a must!! For country folk, this is a must!!

    I have stayed in one of the mountain view rooms, and what a great place to spend a goumet weekend away. Not only is there up to 7 beers to sit back and enjoy on site, but quality of the food is also worth the trip. Also within an easy drive from Woodend, is a number of quality wineries if you can drag yourself away from the bar.

    A great place to go for a night or two away. A fantastic range of beers made on the premises - particularly the ESB or Winter Ale on a cold night - and a welcoming and comfortable environment.

    Great range of beers, good bar food, friendly staff plus nice warm fire in bar. Take the train to Woodend from Melbourne then you can sample the whole range of beers and enjoy the day.

    Great location, beer and food. All round fantastic place to escape for a weekend away.
