I suprised my husband last September, with a hot air balloon flight over the yarra valley. It was a beautiful still and clear morning. We rose above the valley and could see the beautiful white mist hovering over the land. It was breathtaking.

Certainly a must do experience. The noise of the hot air going into the balloon is very loud at first, however once in the air the serenity and gentle floating are amazing. The Yarra Valley had drifts of cloud across the valleys and the scenery cannot be described. Very romantic and relaxing and highly recommended, even for the faint hearted.

The breakfast at the end is well worth the wait too.

Hot air ballooning over the Yarra Valley region is a must do. It is like flying, so peaceful and serene. The views of the valley from the balloon are fantastic with the early morning mists add a surreal affect. When you land there is champagne and a magnificent breakfast waiting for you, it is an experience you won’t forget

Drift in the wind with the eagles, high in the sky over Australia’s prettiest valley and enjoy views of the winding Yarra river , on landing enjoy the local wine and a delicious breakfast.

The most beautiful way to see the gorgeous Yarra Valley, and really romantic. I loved it!

When I was younger I saw them flying many times from our kitchen window and secretly hoped one day they would stop, tie their balloon to our TV aerial and come down on a rope ladder have a cup of tea and share some of their adventures with me. Stories of how it feels gently winning over the gravitation, rising up into the vast clear sky of the premature mornings when the crescent moon still hangs white and just float and float with the breeze in several hundred meters high in quietness, hearing almost nothing from the awakening world below. Like a bird eying the world suspiciously from above and smelling the distant winter on the air - a mixture of the dawn mist and crisp darkness on the autumn breeze… Last month I had a chance to experience all this with the guys from “Picture This Ballooning”. I highly recommend to all.
