Kermond’s is a Victorian institution located in Warrnambool, the pot of gold at the end of The Great Ocean Road. It was established in 1949 originally operating from a caravan but now operates from 151 Lava St where it has retained it’s original retro fittings. If you want a good burger like the old days then Kermond’s is for you, it has been said that you have not experienced Warrnambool until you’ve eaten a Kermond’s hamburger while looking across Lady Bay!

I thank the Kermonds for buillding the best ever burger. Had my first around 1969-1970 a treat always, especially after the Hot Rods. Have been know to make a few special trip’s to Warrnambool for a Milk shake and a Burger….might go for a trip this weekend, yum!….Beet’s any of the Mac-Nationals hands down…..Take a trip, local scenery is great too.
No visit back to the ‘Bool’ is complete without “a Kermonds” with bacon and cheese. Great incentive for the kids after the 3 hour drive. The chocolate milkshakes can’t be beaten.

I believe there should be a law against the delicious aroma emanating from Kermonds. When i lived in Melbourne and returned home to the Bool all exited about catching up with the family that smell would hit you and suddenly the car would just steer itself straight to Lava street…Hmmmm. The hard bit was disguising the smell of the burger on me when you got home so the family didnt feel like they came second

After a long drive from the big smoke it’s always the first port of call in Warrnambool town. A great favourite, leads the way in the resurgence of true homemade hamburgers!
Having that lovely smell waft into 5 oclock mass at St Joeys,and not be able to get one for an hour ,was one of the most difficult experiences of my childhood and the freezing sea water.
I’ve travellled extensively and without a doubt the best burgers in the world are Kermond’s burgers.
You haven’t lived until you have wrapped your mouth around the taste of a Kermonds Hamburger - it is so fresh and they will cook it any way you like - want an egg with no yolk (?)- they’ll make it happen, want crispy bacon (?) - they can do that too. It is an asset to Victoria to own something like Kermonds
The only problem with voting for Kermonds is…..next time my family NEED a Kermonds fix ….they will be too busy. Best Hamburgers, chips and milkshakes around. A true Bool icon. We have to have a burger every time we visit the “Bool” and have to text the brother-in-law just to let him know where we are!!! (He does the same when he is at Kermonds). Home delivery just doesn’t make it to Melbourne!
Great place for great food! Who can resist the smell of those onions cooking ready for the best burgers you’ll ever find. And the milkshakes are fantastic as well!
It’s all in the quality of the ingredients. These are REAL burgers chock-full of flavors courtesy of the carefully sourced key ingredients - the tomatoes are to die for! Add to that a well-constructed burger (ie. it doesn’t collapse, the insides falling out or anything like that) and you’ve got the best burger I’ve ever tasted. I’ve travelled a lot and I haven’t found a better option yet - worth coming home for!
Have travelled all over the world , best you will ever find is Kermonds. Fantastic Staff and cleanliness are both assets of Kermonds.

Given a choice my kids pick it too! they used to want McD because of the gimmicks, but even they can see through that now. A definate must for every visitor to Warrnambool.

Nothing comes close to a Kermonds burger. As i have been eatingthem for over 50 years the first port of call when visiting Warrnambool is Kermonds. The only changes are that it is now the grandchildren cooking, I have watched 3 generations cooking great burgers.

I have been to many Hamburger shops but none can compete for quality than Kermonds. Definitely the place to visit when you are in the Warrnambool area.
Beats any burger anywhere. My brothers moved to Alice Springs for a while, many years ago. There were lots of local Warrnambool people in the area at the same time and the thing they all missed the most was a Kermonds hamburger, so they arranged to truck a load of burgers from Warrnambool to Alice Springs so they could all enjoy a little piece of paradise.

The hamburgers are always the same, cooked fresh in front of the customer, the shop is lovely and clean and the staff are friendly and efficient.

A real Warrnambool burger that’s survived the coming of fast food multi-nationals - you can smell them while you’re doing your shopping in Lava st. And the shop has a great retro feel while you watch you’re burger getting done.
