During a week’s stay in one of the excellent B&B’s, you can make daytrips to any of the wonderful beaches along the coast from Wilsons Promontory to Phillip Island.

The first Saturday of the month visit the Farmers Market. Every Wednesday there are cattle sales at the VLE sales yards. Walks along the Rail Trail or to the Recreation reserve, gourmet meals, wineries…… You will run out of time.

A stay at one of the B&Bs also gives you the opportunity of visiting the shops where essential oils and pot pouri are made up and gifts can be bought to either pamper yourself or to give away. The Farmhouse Kitchen is also a great place to eat and the Cooking School offers great lessons. The Revamp shop has wonderful clothes and quaint furniture and other items. You can spend a whole day in this village as there are also opportunities for massages and spas. Plus - it’s such a pretty place!

Are you looking for a weekend getaway or a weekly journey of exploration to unwind? Koonwarra is one to add to your list. The renowned Koonwarra Store offers great local produce in a restaurant surrounded by gorgeous gardens. South Gippsland’s largest town Leongatha is just 7kms north of Koonwarra.
