uietly nestled between the Gippsland lakes and 90 Mile Beach, this is a idealistic escape from the stresses of city and subirban life.
Only 3.5 hours from city centre and awash with the natural costal scenery and native wildlife, this is such a place to relax and leave the stresses behind that people who come here will fall in love with the beauty here.
But no, it is not a socially deprived area, there are shops, supermarket, RSL, tennis and bowls club, golf course, take-aways, bakery, service stations, hotel and post office.
And the Holiday Park has cabins, large camp sites and wonderful amenities on it’s 25 acre site. And all is close to it.
Lake and ocean fishing, boating and jet skiing; the lakes are never out of water!!
    No better place to relax.
You really will not want to leave!!!

Loch is a very special Village very olde worlde with lovely antique shops the ‘main’ street is just like a lovely garden. The beautiful Gippsland hills around are really a delight. Easy distance from larger country towns for shopping etc. The Hard Loch Cafe is a great spot for a simple lunch etc.

A secret destination, hidden between Lake Victoria and 90 Mile beach, kangaroos hopping between the houses, emus walking the golf course, echidna wandering through the school and possums hanging from the trees. And to wake up to a vast array of birds including Rainbow Loroketes, Eastern Rosella’s, Crimson Rosella’s, kookaburras and even Black Cockatoos. Across the lake in the morning sparkle of the sun, the Pelicans and Black Swans swim and fish. Dolphins often grace the lake and a grand variety of fish are available to anglers. Lakes National Park at the other end of town with supermarket, RSL, Hotel, variety of accommodation and activities. Such a natural and unspoilt area so close to Melbourne and the Eastern areas of Gippsland.

Loch has some of Victoria’s best bike riding roads in the area. The hills, scenery and quite country roads would make the region one of the best in Victoria. You can leave Loch and travel in any direction on the back roads and finish back at Loch for a great coffee

    Loch to Koonwarra.
Turn off the South Gippsland highway to stop at Loch. Wander around to look at the craft and antique shops.
Enjoy spectacular scenery as you drive to Korumburra, where you turn off the highway in the centre of town to go to Wonthaggi.
From Wonthaggi find the road to Cape Paterson, then drive along the coast to Inverloch. Enjoy a late lunch at the RACV Inverloch resort.
Drive along the coast to Tarwin Lower/Venus Bay and walk along the river or beach. if you have a day to spare, head to Koonwarra for a meal at the Koonwarra store, before reluctantly heading home.
For a two day trip, head to Fish Creek instead of Koonwarra and find lodgings between it and Foster. In the morning wander around Foster then Meeniyan before enjoying lunch at the Koonwarra store. On the way home stop off at Coal Creek in Korumburra for an enjoyable break.

Loch is a beautiful village with lots to see and do and an easy day out from the hustle & bustle of city life. Autumn is a particularly good time to see the deciduous trees in full colour surrounded by lush green hills on the edge of the Stzreslecki Ranges.
