I discovered Longleat about 1.5 years ago, however when I went to visit it was closed due to poor Sandra injuring her leg and going to hospital - so I drove back to Melbourne feeling a sense of unfulfillment Because of its amazing cozy atmosphere I promised myslef I would return upon one proviso -it had to be with that perfect date! Sounds easy enough, but it wasn’t. Finally a year and a half later after endless dates that did not deserve the beauty of Longleat, I found one that did. Thanks to Longleats service, wine and cheese, I scored huge brownie points with my date. Thanks Longleat, lets hope you set the scene for a wonderful future

Beautiful little winery with great ambience. Guido’s delicious wines and Sandra’s amazing cheese are only surpassed by their warm and friendly hospitality. A Vazzoler cheese platter and wine, followed by the best coffee and cake makes for a great lunch - we are lucky to be able to indulge regularly. Beautiful wine, food and also great views of the river gums.

This little haven is special for so many reasons - but mostly as it is local to some of my lovely friends so a visit to their home for the weekend always involves a trip to Longleat for some of Sandra’s cheese, some wine and coffee and whatever gluten free treat Sandra has on display. This couple have become friends simply by serving my friends and I. It is my favourite getaway and I’ll be there soon to celebrate my birthday. Thanks for a ’something beautiful’ that can be enjoyed often.

The Travelling Wineberries had a memorable breafast in the rustic courtyard overlooking the vineyard and gum tree lined Goulburn River beyond with Guids, Sandra (on crutches) & the family. Fabulous simple food in a wonderful setting, fantastic warm hosts, great wines & exclusive estate made cheeses . Murchison and Longleat are truly worth a visit for all these reasons and more. Why visit a cold impersonal large winery when you can visit Longleat. We will all be back.

An easy 2hr drive from Melbourne, in the Goulburn Valley wine region, Longleat is the best choice for miles around for wine tasting, good coffee, or a quiet lunch . The views and ambience are so relaxing, the food is interesting and delicious, the wine and cheese excellent, and the hosts, Guido and Sandra are helpfull and friendly. It is such a cosy place - quite unlike the noisy, barn-like cafes, restaurants, and tasting rooms at the bigger vineyards. My favourite!
