Camp beside the lake and wake to the ducks coming to visit, walk the amazing trails and climb the granite knolls; see the maginficient gorge, enter the underground river and maybe even see some snow
Mount Buffalo is gorgeous anytime of year, but particularly now with snow on the caps. it’s a great place to take the littlies skiing.

Mt Buffalo is one of the most scenic and captivating landscapes is Australia. From sunrise at the Gorge lookout to Sunset at the top of the Horn, you will be awe struck by its beauty and magic. No where in the world has so much to offer in such a compact space.

Mt. Buffalo is just majic, the views down the gorge are priceless! The mountain being more of a high plateau you don’t need to be a mountain goat to be able to walk the beautiful tracks, short or long. A stroll around Lake Catani in the fresh mountain air…bliss! And the fact that it is almost always 8 to 10 degrees cooler than in the valleys makes it a wonderful place to be in the summer.

The shear natural beauty is unbeatable, an island in the sky with so much to do and see. Buffalo is a must visit every year, where else can yoo feel the isolation of our majestic Australian bush, so close to to Bright and all the other tourist area’s.

What a beautiful place and so easy to get to. Love the walks and the magnificent views. Wish we could still ski there and enjoy the beautiful Chalet. It’s such a great family mountain and we miss it terribly.

The place (in particular the Chalet) are a State treasure.
The views are world standard,
the air in clean and crisp,
the geology and rock formations are a joy to explore
the flora is amazing

Just love the alpine scenery, it changes so wonderfully at every bend on the fantastic walks. Being on a plateau you get the best views for minimal effort and its great in both winter and summer. My husband and I have been going for years and now that we have a son we can’t wait to introduce him to all the tracks.

My very favourite place in Victoria. There are many walks from short to long, easy to challenging, I still have not completed them all. There is nothing like a swim in the lake after a hard day’s walk. The views are spectacular and we always take our overseas visitors to this mountain. Just wish the Chalet was still open. It is such a charming building - like a sentinel watching over the mountain!

Mt. Buffalo is Australia’s most accessible and family friendly mountain. After a short journey up the mountain everyone can take in the panoramic views across the Australian Alps from the platform near the Mt Buffalo Chalet. We may be a wide brown land but we do have mountains too - come and look for yourselves!

There is nothing better than camping at Lake Catarni, walking up the to the Horn to watch the sun set or to the Charwell Gallery’s to watch it sun rise. Swimming in the fresh water and just relexing. Love it
