The Point Cook Homestead is a great trip for the kids and family and is only 18 minutes from the city. Step back to yesteryear and see how people lived when life was less complicated and quieter. With great views of the city and a nice beach to walk along and property to play on (to tire the kids out of course), my family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Even after tiring the kids out, we sat down and had some afternoon tea at the cafe before setting off for home again. Well Done! I found this great place on the internet

The summer house for one of Melbourne’s well known families, the Chirnsides. The homestaed and the area are all a fantastic walk through a time of long ago. The Cafe’ is a welcome addition for realxing and enjoying great food.

This a real gem if you are seeking, beauty, history and tranquility in a little known tourist spot so close to the CBD. This 150 year old restored homestead, with majestic Norfolk Pines that looks right out across the Bay and with perfect views of the city skyline set amongst the tranquility of hundreds of acres of parkland is a real must for any tourist both local or from overseas. The cafe open on weekends provides excellent food and wine. Rating 4.5 out of 5

Thomas Chirnside’s first house and now a wonderful historical part of Melbourne with the best address in the state and view to go with it.
the cafe is open weekends for coffee and cake or lunch and breakfast

A wonderful historic homestead with a rich history in the Werribee/Point Cook area. Has a fantastic little cafe with the best scones and cream. Old farm buildings for the kids to explore and plenty of room to run around. I highly recommended “must do” for all our guests.

A historic gem within Melbourne right on the bay.
I can get a good meal, learn some history, and enjoy nature, history and scenery and allow the kids to roam free.
    The atmosphere was simply great.
    Definately a must do
