Love going to the Vic Market. It has a great atmosphere, good value for money and a variety of fresh food, fruit and vegetables. There is also such a wonderful mix of foods from Australia and overseas that you really are spoiled for choice. A nice place to just walk around and browse on a Saturday morning and sit down to relax for a coffee after you have done all your shopping.

Love the atmosphere, the food, the entertainment. Also the Kids activities during the school holidays are great! Will definately book a Foodie Tour with some mates from work; we will all come down by train for a BIG day out at the Market.

The Queen Vic Market represents everything that is great about Victoria and Melbourne. The food is of the best quality and the range of cultures and produce available is sensational. I love the vibrancy and life about the markets. Not to mention the fabulous value and experience.

My Great Grandfather was the first man to bring TOFU to the Queen Vic. I love it because of the history and how migrants have shaped our lives through their food and hardwork. Thanks Pa.

Try the market early Saturday morning - shop for fruit, vegies, meat & fish with all the cafe / restaurant people. The prices are cheap and you get to know so many wonderful stall keeepers.

what a rip-off, market stalls charging supermarket prices, dont even bother going there, i can buy don pepperoni in central qld cheaper than i can buy it at vic markets even though you can nearly throw stones at the factory it is made at from vic markets, bloody hell it only has to be transported 2km to vic markets and 2000 km to where i am and i get it $5 a kg cheaper than in their own back yard. most other products are the same.

You can walk slowly and take a look at or buy it, all the work the artist made!
It is a mix of a lot off cultures, Everything and everyone is on the market.

The best place to shop on a sunday morning, nothing can compare to the Vic Market. We have nothing like it here in Adelaide.

Melbourne’s Victoria Market is the first place I take any overseas guest, and other out-of-towners. Many come from areas that have nothing to match it. The fruit/veggie stalls, the deli and meat and seafood halls are best of all.

The markets in Barcelona, Rome, Istanbul, Aswan, Cairo, Hanoi, Lang Son and Hoi An are wonderful but none offer the sheer range of produce and experience available at the Queen Victoria Market. A must for all visitors. (I didn’t say cheapest.)

You will find a fantastic range of incredibly fresh produce here - including some things that you’ll struggle to find anywhere else. It is a colourful, noisy, vibrant experience and you should follow you nose to find whatever’s cooking on the day - I highly recommend the hot jam donuts from the market van, the spicy lamb borek from the deli and the freshly squeezed juice from the fruit and veg stalls.

Queen Vic market has always been there, it is actually older than me. We had visitors over from New Zealand earlier on this year and they were so impressed that they arranged groups every day it was open for a week with their guests who were attending a wedding.

The open air, the covered walkways, the smells, the sounds, the spruiking meat and fruit and vege sellers, the deli tastings, the choice of fresh produce and the buzzyness all combine for a great tourist experience. Where else can you experience all this, do some great value shopping and then sit down to a cappaccino, a gourmet sausage or barek and listen to a busker in an historic environment!
