Just to play around with sciences
Its quick & easy to get there, and there is something for all ages/tastes, its inexpensive (can even bring your own picnic), its educational, and its something you can go to regularly to re-live old favourites - but to see new displays & exhibitions and you can either spend the whole day or just a few hours. A family favourite.
There are bigger museums in the world, but here there is heaps of variety, and they have plenty more to come if the tour of their storage area is anything to go by. There is something of interest for all ages : I walked out realising that I and the kids had been totally engaged the whole time I was there and really enjoyed myself - and I’m no scientist!! A big difference to art galleries or kid-dominated attractions.
Ask my 3yr what she wants to do today, she’ll tell you ‘ go to Scienceworks!’. It’s better than any indoor play centre for kids… and adults.
A great place for children to learn about science in a fun way!
After the Victorian Space Science Education Centre, this place is pretty good
Great place to visit with the kids, they never tire of the hands on activities, and the special exhibitions are an added bonus. Can’t forget the lightning room and the pump station. Membership is cheap, and makes it an affordable and educational activity for an rainy day, or just somewhere to take the kids where you know they will enjoy themselves
Lots of interesting things to see and do - even better without children.
What a wonderufl place to visit and take the children to. So much to do, so interesting and so affordable. Well done Science Works - we will be back.
