I believe that scuba diving is the absolute and reasonably priced activity. It is healthy and just plain fun.

Catch a diver charter out to Pope’s Eye, marvel at the colours on a very easy and accessible dive. On the way back in, have the boat pop over to Chinaman’s Hat and have a skin dive with the playful seals. Finish off the action with a dive under Portsea Pier with the weedy sea dragons. Top off a fantastic day with a meal at the iconic Portsea pub.

I have dived Fiji, Barrier reef, Ningaloo reef, Navy Pier Exmouth (rated in the top 10 world dive sites), Rottnest, Quinns Rocks, Bicheno and Flinders Island and still think Portsea pier, Dromana Pier the bay and heads stand out as the best diving I have done. Can’t wait to dive there again soon. everything is within easy reach 10 to 30 min boat ride. Reefs, Walls, caves. submarines and ship wrecks and so much marine life (if the derdging has not ruined it). And the dive services on the peninsula are very professional. Other areas within Oz. could learn a lot from them.

Portsea Pier one of the few places where you can reliably see the famous weedy seadragon, as well as cuttlefish, crabs and our friendly bay rays. It’s an easy entry and a great place for underwater photography.

This is an excellent dive site to introduce people to the world of scuba diving. It is an excellent spot to allow new divers to gain confidence in their new found sport. There is plenty to see and is different every time you dive the site.

I am the mum of a young diver aged 13,
It is a huge passion of hers, and thanks to the opportunities in Victoria she has got her license.

Always been a good dive, good for beginners, use to love diving there, but the waters got too murky for some who couldn’t see it through, and left there buddy.
