Falls creek in the Victorian Alpine region has to be one of the premier tourist venues in Victoria.
The high country cannot be beaten for its breathtaking scenery. Combined with your ability to ski through this snow covered winter wonderland and the Alps are just unbeatable in terms of family value and enjoyment.

During the peak of the ski season, you would be forgiven for thinking you were in some little village on the other side of the world.
Everything you need is in the village, and it is alive day and night. Sled dog races are an unbeleivable sight, skiing, snowboarding its all there for you. Once you arrive you park your car and it dose n’t move again untill your ready to leave, everybody walks to the pubs and clubs under the stars and in the snow..
It’s like stepping into another world, and its on our doorstep in Victoria.

Falls Creek is a beautiful, uplifting alpine environment. The white pristine undulating mountains are breathtaking. Skiing or walking in the snow gives you a feeling of truly being alive. It is magical, spiritual, and just downright fun!

There is nothing better than being on top of a mountain skiing - it is exhilarating, exciting and you feel a spiritual connection with the beauty and wonder of nature. Give it a try.

Snow camping on the High Plains
There’s nothing like packing up the essentials and a few treats, heading up to the mountains, leaving behind the noise and crowds of the resorts and finding your own little bit of peace and quiet in an unspoilt wilderness. Waking up next morning, looking out of the tent to find that everything around has been blanketed with pristine white, beckoning you out to play on the fresh snow.

All year round Mt Buller is amazing but especially in Winter. It’s my second home.

The feeling of chrisp mountain air, and the exhileration of skiing down the slopes. Having a piping coffee in a cafe before heading back out only to retire at the end of the day to a warm and cosy lodge for a few beer, to share tails about the days achievements.

What a great place to blow the cobwebs out of your head and the let the stresses of everday life go! There’s nothing better than feeling the crisp air on your face and the exhilaration of heading downhill at your own pace on whatever form of transport you prefer. Once you’ve been there you will never want to go home. It’s addictive!

I’ve been skiing for over 30 years and am still enjoying the fresh air and exercise,
the improvements being made at all resorts.
Love the food and accommodation. Enjoyed banana week last year at Falls, thats when all the Queenslanders come down. I only hope they still have the free lift tickets when I reach 70

Head to Mount Hotham, Dinner Plain on the first weekend of August and join in the fun with the Alaskan Malamute Club of Victoria’s Fun Day.

The attractiveness of skiing in Australia lies in its convenience and the sheer unlikeliness of being able to ski in this wide brown land. There is something special about snow piled up in a gum tree, and seeing wombats on the ski slopes.

So few people internationally know what great snowfields Victoria and Australia have, and the absolute beauty and festive atmosphere of the snowfields are truly stunning and make for a great trip.

I am from Canada and so of course I love the snow, rigging up on cold winter days, warpping our hands arround hot cus of chocalate and eating, hot stews and starry eyed dreaming around burning log fires. Not to mention the fabulous wines of this southern cold regions in Victoria. All of this and our magical mountains makes the state of Victoria unique from the rest of Australia.

Physical exercise and a complete change from the everyday rat race with a big fire and a glass of wime at the end of the day. What else could you ask for?

On a clear winters day, skiers can see for miles across all of the snow-covered peaks when skiing through Falls Creek. Cross country skiing across Rocky Valley Dam wall and along the road to Watchbed Creek is a truly magical and inspirational journey.
