This is a must for vistors to Victoria. The SPC Ardmona Kidstown is the epitomises childhood fun. This huge outdoor playground, is an adventure playground amongst river backdrop. You can stay there all day and it only cost you a $1. There is the option of buying food or you bring your lunch. With the need for families to tighten their purse strings tighter - this is the perfect cheapest place to entertain children, with the bonus of them excerising while having fun and being outside. If you haven’t been - make the trip.

An 84 year old retired builder and a bunch of volunteers helped bring the vision of a unique playground to reality. SPC Ardmona, Visy Industries (Richard Pratt), J Furphy and Sons, Ducats and many other supporters helped contribute more than a million dollars to build the evolving project. The ideas of local kids and their parents were included in the design of what is widely regarded as the best children’s playground in Australia. KidsTown is an exciting playground for kids and one that meets the needs of their parents. A theme park like adventure only costs a gold coin donation. What more could you ask for a great family day out?

A brilliant playground … much for kids to do, and only for a gold coin donation.
The only gripes I have is the cost of things at the cafe and the restaurant. They are a bit pricey, but I guess the Council wants to make a huge profit. The restaurant will be much dearer now they have let the contract out to run it.
But, aside from that the playground is fantastic.

My kids love kidstown and always want to head over there. Luckily it’s only a 10 minute drive for us but I would drive an hour or more to go here with the kids. Games, a train, flying fox, slides, swings, bring a picnic or a few snags to burn on the BBQ(ok, thats more about the way I cook, not the BBQ), or use the kiosk as the prices are pretty good. A gold coin donation is all they ask. This place is a ball.

A wonderland of paths, steps and slides that allows children to escape into their own world as they explore the wonderfully created play structures and all they have to offer. It really is a town for kids complete with grassy picnic area, barb-b-que and a shop full of treats. Allow plenty of time to enjoy this amazing experience.

Great to see something pitched squarely at the kids - and I am sure the Parents enjoy the break that Kidstown provides. It is also a great combination of benefit to the Tourist/traveller whilst having wide appeal to the local commumity.

It is absolutely brilliant for kids and family, we have even taken our elderly parents along with grandchildren and they loved it too. It has a special memory for us as Mum was taken there and had a photo taken with her youngest greatgrandchild from Darwin and 2 months later she passed away.
    A must for all.

We are lucky to have such a great playground in this area, which is a safe place to take our children and grandchildren. It has a volunteer organisation called Friends of Kidstown where local businesses and the public donate their time and services to make this a wonderful adventure playground. Kidsfest, a children’s festival, is an annual event run over a few days. It is expertly run by staff and volunteers, attracting children from far and wide and is equally enjoyed by adults.

Not just an ordinary playground, more of an “adventure experience”! The facilities are great, the variety of equipment and activities cater for a wide range of ages, and there’s always plenty of parking. On any given Saturday morning you’ll find dozens of Dads stuck in the maze or tunnels, nappy bag over their shoulder, trailing an excited toddler or two - a great way to spend a morning!

My children love Kidstown, there are a number of activites that the kids enjoy and it doesn’t matter what the age. The playground is massive and enjoyed not only by the children, but also the parents! Food is not an issue, as you can utilise the cafe, or there are plenty of BBQ’s provided if that’s your taste or pack a picnic as there are ample areas to eat amoungst the beautiful bush backdrop.

This is a fantastic, family friendly playground - it’s huge. It’s so great the adults can’t be blamed for wanting to join in (there’s plenty who do) and if they wear themselves out (unlike the kids who just keep playing…), they can sit and enjoy a beautiful cuppa from the clean, inviting cafe. Well worth a visit - located between Shepparton and Mooroopna, Victoria.
