Our family had a great day walking around Tower Hill seeing lots of koala’s, kangaroos and emu’s. Lots of birdlife, and a few snakes. We had a bbq and a great day.
We moved to Koroit 18 months ago, and live a few minutes walk from Tower Hill Road. The view from there is spectacular, taking in the ocean the crater and lush surrounding paddocks. Whenever family and friends visit a trip to the centre is a must. You are always guaranteed to see Koalas, Kangaroos and Emus and often other wild life.. A great place for young and old, and the internationals just love it.

This is one of my favorite spots in Victoria for wildlife spotting and it’s great for both adults and kids. I always bring overseas visitors here to see the many koalas, kangaroos and emus (in addition to echidnas if you’re lucky especially if you go late afternoon). There are also great walks to do and it’s so close to Port Fairy that you can top the day off in one of the great pubs and restaurants there. 5 stars from me!

It is a magnificent sight, looking from the rim of the volcano into the lakes and parkland within. The children always like seeing the emus up close and having a picnic is fun.

One of the best experiences we’ve had was a visit to Tower Hill after having stopped in Warnambool’s gallery to see the colonial depictions of the original. It’s an amazing place, with its fascinating history well interpreted and native animal life; combined with a drink at the pub in potato-land Koroit, and a night spent at Port Fairy — magic!

I have taken my 4 year old son to Tower Hill a number of times, we always find something different to do there, picnics, bar-b-ques, spending time watching the emu’s kangaroo’s, koala’s, echidna’s and bird’s, or just taking a hike up to the top and watching the world around use. I would also like to thank the aboriginal rangers who showed my son how to throw a boomerang. It is great to see that the traditional owners of the land are running it.

The site of an old volcano which has walking tracks starting at the rim
and heading down into the cone. The tracks take you though some beatiful
country with wateing holes, bringing you close to many a native animal and
plant. There are short walks suitabe for most people or ones that takes
several hours with an easy to moderate grading. Picnic areas are available

View from both inside the crater and from above from the rim of the volcano - the most fantastically unique natural formation in Victoria

A regular spot for a picnic when my family visits Warrnambool. When the water returns it will be worth another star!
