I visited the museum and found it very educational and moving. I was only young during the Vietnam war and had mixed feelings about the situation. The museum made that time in our history very much clearer. The light show is a phenomenal experiece.

I think this particular exhibition needs as much publicity as it can get because it is a topic that changed Australia and needs to be explained to the coming generations correctly and completely.

It is run by volunteers and they do an exemptional job of displaying the items they have and explaining things that are not understood by the general public.

I was told more work will be done on the Tank, it does look impressive now. When the Canberra Bomber is restored it will look great. I wa stold the building will double its size!

I was quite surprised at the amount of items on display. A helicopter inside the building as well as a tank was indeed unexpected. Bring a box of tissues when you watch the TV display. It really hits the heart. A fantastic effort by everyone connected with the museum. There is on going work at the time of our visit ,so we will be back.

There is not many places in the world that covered this war in as much detail both from an equipment used and worn by the troops in such a small area. The Cobra Helicopter and the Centurian Tank and vehicles were impressive. This is a place where learning and high Tech displays are to be incouraged. This visionary exhibition was obviously put together by dedicated veterans and their families. Well done a real pleasure to visit with my family.

The Vietnam Veterans Museum is amazing. Firstly because volunteers have given of their time, expertise and experience to produce a 5 star showcase of the Vietnam War. Secondly, the detail - photographs, memorabillia, movie, centurian tank, the cobra helicopter, paintings and the general atmosphere of a war Australia tried to forget.
And thirdly, the “guides” are informed, have answers to the most complicated questions, and can’t do enough for you. There is also a cafe/bookshop.
Outside, a memorial garden has been thoughtfully created inviting visitors to give thanks and prayers. All in all, a great experience.

I went to the museum to do a bit of work on the tank display with my Father - in - Law, and spent more time checking out the other things on display! The theatre display was fantastic, and put together with other things to see like helicopters, a centurion tank, and even an old bomber out the back, it showed what it was like for the diggers over there. I would recommend that anyone visiting Phillip Island should call in and take a look, I thought it was great!

We had a terrific visit, but an hour was not enough time, the kids loved the Helicopter and the Tank. The learning experience re the Vietnam war was very helpful, many things we never knew of that period. Thank you all for the effort and work done on this Museum.

Had a look at this museum a few weeks back. I was told about the museum and about a few of the things it had on display. I planed to pop in for an hour and have a look, well 3 hours later I walked out amazed. The Centurion Main Battle Tank and the helicoptor hanging from the roof is a must see. Take the kids, they will love it. Give yourself so time to really look over the place. Well done to all that have worked so hard to make this museum what it is today. I’ll be back

This has to be one of the most “must see” exhibits of militaria currently available in the one spot. An easy drive from Melbourne, plenty of good eateries along the way and a stunning eyeopener at journey’s end. Obviously the work of dedicated enthusiasts who have concentrated on the good, the bad and the ugly but, above all, the interesting parts of military service in a confused arena of warfare. Aircraft, as were used in rapid troop movements when required, transport when quick action was required to save a life and, ultimately, as the first step towards the “Great Freedom Bird” that brought them back to a community that wasn’t prepared to acknowledge their sacrifices.
Enough of the philosophies………go down for the day and look at the displays that have been put together with love and passion. Be prepared to be intimidated by the massiveness of a Centurion Main Battle Tank - 60plus tons of sheer fear, capable of demolishing with equal ease, an attacking force or an “ambusher’s hidey hole” and home to men loved it as only men can love an inanimate object. Go!!! See for yourself and thrill to this page of our history.

I have followed with great interest the Restoration of the Centurian at the Museum. I have done some restorations over the years, and i take my hat off to the dedication and work put into this Tank, it is far greater than anything that I have done. A fantastic result.

A great place to visit. The collections displayed including many excellent Diaramas is first class. The ongoing upgrade of a Centurion Main Battle Tank to show it as one would have been equipt in Vietnam with all the gear and modifications. This unit has not been dressed in a showroom finish but more or less as it would have appeared after an action.
It adds to the great overall display and well worth a few hours to inspect.

Visited last week with my husband. The display was quite amazing. I would not have known we had tanks in Vietnam it was a great display. The helicoptor was also a high point. The viewing in the theater made me feel I was there. There has been an amazing amount of work put into this project, my thanks to everyone concerned. I fully recommend a visit to this dispaly to anyone visiting Phillip Island.

An easy 4.5 out of 5. This museum brings to life the story of Australia’s longest war. This period 1962-72 divided Australian society and this museum tells the story in an interesting way. It is certainly better - and more complete than most people would imagine. The technology is amazing and will interest all ages. We love it.
