Old gold town, good food, terrific bush cycling tracks. Improvements to the Calder Freeway making the Dunolly area very accessible through Castlemaine and Maldon.

Lot’s of old goldfields to explore (as in, you can actually walk through them), very good bike tracks, friendly townfolk, good view from nearby Mt Moliagul.

    Beautiful old gold mining town.
For great food try the local bakery and the local cafes. Both pubs also serve excellent food.
There are great bike tracks through the Dunolly state forest, featuring sites of historical significance. You can pick up a Dunolly cycle tracks map from the Dunolly Rural Transaction Centre.
Also worth visiting is the nearby (10 minutes drive) historic town of Tarnagulla.

Discover Dunolly’s golden history and quaint town, try your luck, then stay awhile in the district and follow the Golden Triangle to complete your history lesson.

Dunolly is very historic for gold.
The Welcome Stranger was found just out of Dunolly.
John Flynn the man who actually started the Outback Doctor Service.
Close proximity to Bendigo, Maldon, Maryborough. Lovely around August for the Wattle Festival.
