First visited in the 1950s and I am still going there! I can’t wait to get my piece of flathead - in the “back door” from the boat and out the front door in my take away box. And now there is the delightful Wild Fish cafe where I can sit in comfort, watching the changing tides, sipping good wine and eating great food. The General Store gallery cafe stocks inexpensive books for a good read and the air is fresh as I walk along the foreshore. Heaven!

Port Albert is the jewel in the crown of Gippsland. It has the most amazing picture-perfect views - a haven for photographers and artists. It is peaceful and tranquil - a perfect place for a get-away break. You must try the wharf fish and chips and a drink with the locals at the Port Albert pub.

Oozing with history, pleasant walks, interesting museum and a wonderful gallery and eating place at The General Store. Port Albert must be the best kept tourist secret.

Port Albert! a nice cosy little costal historical town on my journeys, Perfect if you’re in the mood to drop in or maybe spend the night. What really surprised me about this special little town was the stylish and elegant Café/Gallery on offer at Port Albert’s own Historical General Store. The style of those special inner-city boutiques minus the ego-trip with good old fashioned friendly service and relaxing atmosphere.
Pity I didn’t have time to hire a kanoo as the surrounding waters are really quite beautiful. Always more to do in Port Albert, eagerly awaiting the next chance I have to get back on the road and return.

A fabulously relaxing weekend staying at the very stylish and comfortable Rodondo Band B, with just the best breakfasting and browsing at the historic General Store (cafe and gallery) which oozes taste and atmosphere (great sourdough too) A gentle putt out on still waters in a hire tinny then lunch of fish and chips. Wonderful walks and friendly locals too. Highly recomended.

A coastal gem, accommodation houses with unspoilt water views, fish and chips to die for on the waters edge, a walk around the inlet and then step back into maritime history at the museum. Our family had the most delightful time and we can not wait to get back to the Port.
