This picturesque hike from Mount Hotham to the summit of Mt Feathertop, the state’s second highest mountain, will get the heart racing with its stunning 360 degree views.

The razor back is always spectacular; in any season and for whatever reason. Whether it’s the walking challenge, the clear blue skies or the crisp cool air, it always gives a sense of being a thousand miles from anywhere. It will always hold a special place in our hearts as FB’s final resting place.

A fantastic walk and great views. The best place to start the walk is from the wonderful township of Harrietville, which is really the start of the Feathertop track.
Great Place to stay overnight before or after the walk.

This walk is so versatile and makes you feel like you are really on top of the world. A great way to do it is to have someone drive to the Razorback from Harrietville, walk out to Feathertop, head back down the mountain to Harrietville. A great round trip and no going back the way you came.

Winter is the time to see this country at its wildest, and best. What better way to appreciate it than with a snowboard and go sliding off the summit - woohoo!!

This is a fantastic walk and one that is accessible to so many people. Easy access to the starting point, a fairly easy walk most of the way, and stunning views along the way to Victoria’s 2nd highest mountains makes this one of the best day walks in the Victorian Alps.
Definitely a must do for anyone of average fitness.

The best alpine scenery in Victoria.
Camping on top of Mt. Feathertop many years ago and watching the sun set and rise will never be forgotten.
Cross-country skiing along the Razorback and then climbing Feathertop covered in snow was also a fantastic experience.
On one occasion we stayed in the Melbourne University Mountaineering Club hut on the North West Spur. This hut is dome shaped and looks like a space ship. Very unique.
I am very much looking forward to celebrating my friend’s 70th birthday on top of this her favourite mountain later this month!

An exhilarating challenge for a one-day hike capturing rugged mountains, open plains and varying degrees of climbing. Sitting on the top of Mt Feathertop was a surreal experience, a little like sitting on a table! A lifelong memory.
