In October/November startlingly red waratahs bloom among tree ferns under huge shining gums on the Errinundra Plateau. Gippsland High Country Tours takes small groups into the Errinundra National Park to see this wonder which was dusted with snow the day we visited and was quite astoundingly magic - a completely different sort of natural environment from anywhere else in the state and relatively unknown. Suggested by: kaye munro
