Close to melbourne, but miles away. Bike riding on the rail trail, floating down the yarra river, hiding from the heat, soaking in the yarra, enjoying being in the peaceful bush, camping close to the river, waking to its soothing sounds

I wouldn’t live any where else on earth. When I die, flick my ashes into the river and I will become one with this wonderful place.
Just try the walk along the old aqueduct track through the tall forest trees at the top of Surrey Road - stunning!
Warburton Winterfest
A three day festival near the winter’s solstice that makes the magic mountains even more magical. It is a great excuse to find a self contained cottage and use Warburton as a base to explore the Yarra region. There is usually a busy program of markets, food, country competitions (wood cutting etc), music, fire dancing and a community lantern parade. As you walk in your beanie through the valley as evening falls to the sound of the river and children’s giggles watching them skip along with their lanterns….what could be better. A cup of hot chocolate. Of course…
a peaceful, tranquil place for two for a romantic, getaway from the hussle and bussle life. With beautiful scenery, you can take some sensational walks and visit exquisite waterfalls.
The views, the forest, the air, the stars. Awesome place to kick back, relax and enjoy the environment
Warburton is beautiful, the people are lovely and the views are absolutely amazing. This spot is only a 50 min drive from the Melbourne CDB. Wonderful walks in summer and cosy cafes in the Winter. At the foot of Mt Donna Buang, it definately worth a trip.
either cycle from the start or from say Milgrove to Warburton. A great family activity
I was evacuated to Warburton with my school in about 1943
as a young girl ,and i want to revisit it one day to see if I can recall any of the
places, although the Warburton chalet has burned to the ground since then, I can imagine the fun of going back after so many years, and having remembered a lot of the fun we had.
A 38km shared path through the lovely Yarra Valley past cafes and wineries and finishing at picturesque Warburton. Perfect for a bike ride day out or weekend away. Begins at the end of Melbourne’s Lilydale suburban rail line.
A truly amazing place so close to Melbourne. The views, the forest, the air, the stars. Awesome place to lie back, relax and enjoy an unspoiled environment. And close to wineries, fishing, walking, horse and bike riding etc etc. A day trip only gives you a bit of it. I find a weekend at Warby is so refreshing - and its is hard to go back home!
