To walk through the William Ricketts Sanctuary is a truly remarkable experience. Exquisitely crafted and very beautiful sculptures are set amongst cool and lush fern forest. This collection of sculptures - the lifes work of William Ricketts speaks volumes of a passionate man, who was a keen conservationist and an advocate for the indigenous people of Australia and our precious Mother Earth. Unique and very very special.

This Sanctuary is the most spiritual place in the World, William Ricketts was a true environmentalist well before his time, and the wonderful clay sculptures of the Pitjantjatjara & Arrernte Aboriginal people show the tradition and Culture that inspired William to show this wonderful place to people all over the world.

I voted for the “WILLIAM RICKETTS SANCTUARY” because his artwork is so fantastic - not only of the aboriginal people, but also of the Australian animals - set in a background of native trees and ferns.

His artwork/sculptures can be mainly seen in the Dandenongs and also at Arthur’s Seat in Victoria, He also has sculptures at Alice Springs which are also absolutely fantastic.

True Blue Australian and a spot to be seen by not only Victorians but by anyone that appreciates such artwork.

I have sent many overseas visitors to see Bill’s work and they are all deeply fascinated. A true gem.

A unique experience not only to appreciate the artwork in sculptures but also a touching experience for the soul in light of the indigenous appreciateion that comes with a wander in this beautiful setting. This sanctuary leaves you with an amazing “feeling” to take home.

beautifu forestry and the most amazing stone sculptures and bush walking paths i think it is a must see for everyone as most of the sculptures are of indigenous australians and go into their stories from the land of the dreaming

I had removed it from my list of things to see due to limited time, until a lovely lady at the Healesville information centre said it was a must see, so I took my mum and friend there that afternoon and wow!!! All three of us stood amid the statues and trees like children at Disneyland. It was a wonderfully spiritual experience, mystical, moving, peaceful, deep. Each clay statue has so many messages to convey and so much emotion, love, passion and calling for justice. Truly a SANCTUARY.

This is an amazing gallery set in the quiet, peaceful bushland so typical of Australia.

I take every interstate and overseas friend and visitor to the Santuary and they are just stunned by the experience. It is an Holy place and a great memorial to William and his love of our indigenous people and their culture.

This is such a unique place - close enough to Melbourne for an afternoon trip, and far enough away that you feel like you leave the city behind. The sanctuary is home to beautiful sculptures and carvings that blend so harmoniously with nature. Its a stunning place to visit.

This is truly a sanctuary and a must-see for any Victorian or other visitors. What a wonderful talent this man had and what a beautiful recognition to the first people of Australia.
