Balconies at Daylesford was a wonderful place to relax. We were lucky enough to stay firstly at Balconies B & B and then at No. 36 a very modern cottage owned also by Balconies. We had a truly relaxing and enjoyable time with our hosts Russell and Michael. They are very proud of their properties and give maximum attention to detail. Breakfast is one of the highlights cooked deliciously and presented superbly. No request was too much trouble with such delightful hosts. Location was close to the shops and a short stroll to Lake Daylesford and Mill Market. After a busy day out it was a pleasure to go for a swim in their indoor heated pool and spa. Then a stroll around the gardens overlooking the ornamental lakes. Bliss. Thanks Michael and Russell we will be back! Highly Recommended.

Had a lovely stay – very friendly, amazing breakfast and stunning gardens. Very relaxing, loved the pool as well:)
I loved “balconies” even though I didn’t have a balcony room. Breakfast was great. The place was tastefully decorated and in a great location. I would definitely return.
Immaculate, modern B & B with very friendly hosts (and breakfast magicians!) Russel and Michael who are knowledgeable about the local area. All guests have access to verandahs (either directly from the Lake View room, round a corner from the other rooms, or via the guest lounge) overlooking sloping green lawn down to a picturesque lake, and a forested hill creates a wonderful relaxing, natural view. Just two doors or so up from Lake Daylesford at the bottom of the street. Well stocked library and DVD collection, lovely guest lounge and heated swimming pool and spa.
Only a few blocks from the main street – we easily walked to dinner and back every night which gave us a chance to go out for a few drinks and catch a blues gig.
Peace, tranquility, serenity……. Balconies provided all of that and so much more. I had 4 magnificent nights to stop and recharge. Russell, Michael and Duschka were wonderful hosts, with the professionalism to provide space and privacy when required and yet, still be ‘around’ to make my time there a memorable one, pointing out all of the ‘prized’ local places of interest to visit. Would go back in a heartbeat and highly reccommend to anyone wanting to escape – albeit it alone or with a favourite someone!!!

Expansive garden setting near the lake, spacious rooms with all the comforts and a balcony, breakfast with the lot including choice of teas, good coffee and huge bowl of delicious fresh fruit salad. Friendly hosts with good advice on local restaurants and cafes.
Breakfast was fantastic, Rooms were warm, neat and cosy. Walking distance to Daylesford to walk your Breakfast off. Micheal and russell were a fun hosts.

Myself and my wife love Balconies Daylesford. We have been on numerous occasions and will go back again shortly (hopefully). The guys are fabulous and the service can not be questioned. The breakfast which is served up is the stuff of champions. I wish I could find a cafe which matched this.
The rooms are homely and a great place to relax.
We stayed at the balconies and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Only problem was our stay was too short…. great hosts…. yummy breakfast.. swimming pool was very enjoyable after our long drive from Adelaide in our car that the aircon. had died….. would love to return when we have more time on our hands.

Balconies is a place I would love to visit again and again. The hosts were so friendly and helpful and managed to think of everything to make their B&B that little bit special.
We got engaged at Daylesford where we stayed at Balconies. Russell and Michael were great. Their attention to customer service is second to none. They found out where we were going for dinner, called ahead to the restaurant to ensure that we had champagne on our arrival. It felt like we were staying at a friend’s house instead of a hotel. The breakfast was amazing in particular the salmon with scrambled eggs on toast – I’ve yet to eat another breakfast like that. We’re heading to Balconies again for a short honeymoon weekend in March and lookinf forward to it. Well done guys.

Our visit to The Balconies was the highlight of our trip to Australia. The breakfasts are the best I have had in any lodging establishment. All the folks there looked after my mother in the best manner possible; she thoroughly enjoyed her stay. The house and grounds are beautifully maintained and a great respite after a day’s sightseeing. We definitely want to return on future visits.

Fantastic food! being vegetarian I was a bit concerned about the catering, the food was amazing especially the breakfast . Beautiful comfortable rooms and close to the lake and town, would definately recommend it , very homely and relaxing.

Balconies is the most ideal location in Daylesford. We have stayed on two occations, it’s a magical escape from the chaos of Melbourne. Great walks, plus the antiques centre close by.

We had a great stay at Balconies. I was a bit hesitant on sitting at one table for breakfast,
but it was the best thing as we met some wonderful people and enjoyed the best poached eggs with the trimmings I have had. Great location with relaxing garden and lake, thoughtfully decorated giving a relaxed but stylish environment. Great to unwind in the pool and spa at end of day. Friendly but non-intrusive hosts willing to assist any time. Recommend highly

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights, we were in the excellent self contained house across the road from the B&B. It was just amazing, so exclusive and exquisite we loved staying here with the massive spa and bathroom the the wonderful kitchen and living area complete with pool table! We didn’t want to leave, such a short stay but so relaxing! The house was beautiful and impeccably clean, would love to return for more relaxation

We decided on Daylesford and after referring to the RACV Accomodation Guide selected a B&B – “Balconies Daylesford”. We attended Balconies in April this year, We found Michael and Russell to be excellent hosts who had a great sense of humour, a fantastic knowledge of the local area including where to go and and what to eat. The room was presented immaculatley and had all the finishing touches that you would expect, The Spa and Pool were also excellent, and we found them to be a great way to relax. The DVD collection was fantastic, But above all the breakfast was absolutley SUPERB!!!! Michael and Russell really do have a wonderful B&B and we will definatley be coming back in the future!

Pampered is the word at The Balconies. Russell and Michael have mastered the art of making one feel special and their experience in hospitality is patently evident. The philosophy they demonstrate is a time-honoured one that enables you to forget your cares and be tended to in a manner befitting the royalty that is you – for that time. All the while this is done in a very relaxed and down-to-earth way. There are no smiles through gritted teeth and other falsities here, just the honesty and competence of two dedicated professionals who are passionate about people and this vehicle they have chosen by which to interact with them. Outstanding in location, cleanliness (and we have a keen eye for this), atmosphere, layout, facilities, dining and service, this is a retreat we have and will continue to recommend to those who seek excellence in accommodation.
Michael and Russell have finessed the art of hosting. They are both charming and quick with a laugh with a wonderful eye for detail on every level. Total luxury.

My sister and I were lucky in a way that we were booked to stay at Balconies during the bush fire disasters in Victoria last year, this meant that we had the pleasure of having the accommodation all to ourselves. I’m sure the quality of service would have been no less even if this was not the case, the hosts were warm, helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Nestled in a quiet road just outside the main locality of Daylesford, the setting is tranquil, the grounds well maintained and scenic. The room and all facilities were of a very high standard, breakfast was kindly cooked for us in the morning and much enjoyed. My only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer!
Lynn & I always liked Daylesford, and had not stayed overnight until we booked at Balconies.
What a total delight! This house has a very warm feel and the hosts made us feel like family friends. The setting is tranquil and the accommodation is first class. We’d be very happy to return at a minutes notice.

Balconies Daylesford was the perfect escape we were longing for, away from the day to day stresses and “normal” life we are so accustomed to.
Michael, Russel, Dushka were so welcoming and hospitable that we forgot we even had kids and jobs. The establishment interior, bedrooms and outside surroundings (lake included to which you can view and walk around) were impeccable. Everything in Daylesford/Hepburn was at an easy reach and most often within walking distance. We learnt they have alot of respect within the town when we dined out.
The breakfasts are not to be missed, my only upset is i didn’t stay another day to do the salmon scrambled egg dish…mmmmm.

We have stayed at this B&B twice and have found it to be marvellous. The surroundings and little luxuries made us feel wonderful. What with lovely breakfasts, spa, DVDs & CDs together with the beautiful scenery, it’s a place that is perfect for relaxation and enjoyment.

Jay and I needed a break from work, family and the big smoke, so what better way to unwind than to stay in Daylesford and what a treasure we found in Russell and Michael’s BALCONIES DAYLESFORD! The indoor pool and hot tub was the first of many relaxing moments. We even got a discount on our massage package. Breakfast was to die for and we left Balconies with a full tummy and a new lease on life. A++ and will be happy to return to this establishment again.

My wife and I had a wonderful night at Balconies, the hospitatily was exceptional. The room was well presented as were the common rooms, they were all warm and inviting. We can not wait until we have some babysitting credits to make a return to Balconies……..Sooner rather than later!
I left the husband and son at home and headed off to Daylesford. Balconies was just perfect. Wonderful room and a great sense of space and privacy. Breakfast was the highlight with all the entertainment emanating from the hosts in the kitchen! Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone.

Michael and Russell were extremely lovely and made our stay that much more welcoming. When we decided to visit Daylesford, after searching online for the right place, we were enticed by the photos on their website and chose to stay at Balconies, however, the photos were no comparison to the experience and the quality of the house, the food and the little extras. Michael and Russell are perfect hosts. They gave us such a warm welcome and were most helpful with information about the best places to visit. Breakfasts were wonderful and the whole ambience was peaceful, with a touch of luxury. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the lovely hot tub and heated pool! Balconies is perfectly situated – so near the lake for brisk morning walks or evening strolls. We have had no hesitation in recommending Balconies to our friends and are looking forward to our next visit.

Go stay with the guys up at the Balconies! They welcome you like family. Our stay was fabulous. We arrived at our destination after a long week’s work and were met with a beautiful room, all the things and more you could wish for.
From then on, all weekend, we were looked after, tended to, left to our devices – made no plans. There was always someone around if we needed to ask questions, and we loved the company at mealtimes. Speaking of meals – mmmm…… fresh, tasty and delicious!
If what you want is to explore the area, then there’s plenty to do – if you don’t want to leave your room, you will have a ball! I suggest that you don’t plan anything before you go – just get there and lap up the luxury.
One night was not enough for us.Exquisite attention to detail from our fluffy white dressinggowns, expensive lotions and handcream,orchids in our magnificent bedroom which looked out over a balcony, lake and truly beautiful grounds. A bathroom we could luxuriate in. Michael and Russ were very chirpy at 8.00 am as they took the covers off the heated pool and spa for us, not many guests want to leave such wonderful rooms so early. Breakfast was a total indulgence, do recomend the scrambled eggs with salmon although we loved the healthy option of advacado,poached eggs and chutney on turkish bread .. The house was just beautiful and so much to appreciate, it did not seem like a stay in a B&B but a divine experience.

What a wonderful place to spend a night or two. Not only are the rooms beautifully decorated and comfortable the location is excellent. My wife and I had a wonderful pre-breakfast walk around the lake on a chilly -2C morning, returning to a superb breakfast cooked with passion and care. The bacon, eggs,sausage and mushrooms were brilliant.
Michael and Russell exhibit all the qualities good B&B hosts should have and made us feel completely welcome. Nothing was a problem and they were very helpful in suggesting venues for our dinner.

I took my friend to stay at Balconies for her 50th birthday! We absolutely loved it and would recommend our hosts Michael & Russell to everyone. They were so helpful. We used the spa ,the open fire in the lounge but our favourite was brekky in the dining room. Perfect!!!!
Idyllic escape in Daylesford with x-factor charm as the hosts make you feel like longtime friends who you’ve just been reunited with – genuinely happy to see you, eagar to please and nothing is too much bother! Location is perfect and the rooms are amazing with most including a balcony looking over the lake and include extra features distinguish this place from the rest (such as flat screen TV’s/DVD player to utilise the large collection of DVD’s on offer, i-pod docking station, luxurious shower gels (Molton Brown)). Breakfast is also a memorable stand-out with a gourmet twist on traditional favourties being served in an immaculate room that makes you feel like you are in a regal UK setting – yet without the pretentiousness. Balconies is the perfect getaway location that when it’s time to leave, you have a pang of sadness that your Daylesford escape has ended and the first thing you want to do is check your diary as to when you can return!
Michael and Russell are the perfect hosts. We had a fantastic time there.Great facilities, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. They suggested some great places for dinner and know the town very well.
Their breakfasts were fantastic – never had such great pancakes. Lovely people – their personal touch left me floored on the last day.

We had 3 wonderful days at this special spot in August. Duschka our hostess gave us a genuinely warm welcome and a guided walk/ information tour of everything we could possibly need to enjoy our stay. Small things like how to operate the dvd player and where the extra towels were when using the hot tub and pool.
Lovely outlook from the balconies to landscaped gardens and lakes, delicious breakfasts, cozy open fires, and an extensive library of dvd’s and cd’s and of course the heated pool and hot tub.
Daylesford is a beautiful and historic township and the visitor is spoilt for choice with the terrific eating venues.
Staying at Balconies was a perfectly delightful way to unwind and also venture out to see this wonderful spa country.

We spent two nights at balconies daylesford. Top class! A warm welcome started a wonderful weekend– despite the weather. Well furnished, comfortable, homey. And a wonderful breakfast. We haven’t done many B&Bs in the past; it was really nice to meet people and discuss our days over breakfast. Our hosts, Russell and Michael, were so helpful in assisting us with our day’s plans and recommended a wonderful restaurant for us– and they made our booking, too. We decided to book last-minute, and they got back to me promptly to confirm my reservation. Great location– easy walk to the lake and to town. I’d recommend balconies daylesford to anyone who wants to get away yet be in a warm, comfortable environment.
An absolutely fantastic stay. The owners were on holidays but the women who was looking after Balconies while they were away was very helpful and enthusiastic about helping us in any way possible. I was impressed with the quality of the accomodation and nothing beats a bottle of good wine while sitting around the log fire. We can’t wait to stay there again and since being home I can’t stop talking about our stay.

We were warmly welcomed from the moment of confirmation for our booking. As a last minute idea for a mid week break, we were provided with an excellent deal, which was great value for money. Our most delicious breakfast was probably the highlight of our stay. Wish we were able to stay longer.

The Balconies must be one of Daylesfords best kept secrets. We arrived to a well lit open fire on a rainy Friday afternoon. We had a swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub and then walked into the town for a lovely dinner at one of the restaurants recommended by Russell and Michael. This was the start of a magical weekend.
I stayed at Balconies on two of the coldest days we’ve had in a long time. The accommodation was warm and relaxing – the hosts were warm and welcoming. There was a wide choice of breakfast fare which provided a great start to the day.

Wonderful welcome, beautifully appointed rooms and must certainly be the most delicious breakfast. We took full advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub and after our 2 nights, left feeling relaxed and thoroughly spoilt.

Having stayed at Balconies just recently, I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone traveling to Daylesford. Russell and Michael have certainly created a warm and relaxed ambience. Our room was well appointed and very clean, and the breakfasts were delicious. Having never been to Daylesford previously, we appreciated the suggestions for things to do even had our dinner bookings arranged for us! No detail has been spared at Balconies and I look forward to staying again soon.
We had a wonderful girls weekend at the balconies. Russell and Michael bent over backwards to make sure we were pampered and very well fed! They were also incredibly generous about our remote control incapacities. The accomodation is superb and both the house and grounds are homely and immaculate. We rebooked for next year before we left. Looking forward to it already!

Having been to Balconies twice now, once in summer and once in winter, we consider balconies as one of the best B & B’s in the state. Beautifully appointed rooms, overlooking the most picture perfect lake and gardens. Amazing views from either the balcony with the flowing wisteria in summer, or the manicured gardens where ducks will wander about you. In winter, those who appreciate a more romantic and secluded getaway can experience Daylesfords wondrous white mornings and while you wait for winters sun to clear the mist, you can enjoy quite simply one of the best breakfasts you could wish for. Great staff who are always happy to pass on their knowledge of the best places to head for your days activities. Truly a great place to stay!
Balconies is really a 5 star experience. Our room was immaculate, modern & comfortable. (Even changed the flowers daily!) Wonderful breakfasts with pancakes to die for. We were made feel very welcome by Dushka, Russell & Michael from the minute we walked through the door. Nothing was too much trouble (even late pancake orders, pretty cheeky hey Russell!!) & we felt comfortable to use all the ammenities the home provided. The location is peaceful & quiet – just what we needed for a really relaxing break away from work! Thanks for a great couple of days.
I’ve stayed at several five star resorts and Balconies leaves them for dead! It’s not just the breathtaking views, gardens, lakes and natural wildlife (loved hand-feeding the ducks in the pond and the birds that sit patiently on the balcony !), its the friendly, welcoming hosts Russell and Michael, who made this such a fantastic weekend. I would recommend Balconies to anyone.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at Balconies. Despite the inclement weather outside, it was warm and cosy inside, and we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed, and expertly decorated.
The setting is a treat – lovely garden, overlooking the famous Daylesford lake. Best of all – we liked the pet duck!

I cannot recommend Balconies highly enough. One of the best places I have stayed. The rooms are glorious with every luxurious details taken care of. The Balconies at Daylesford is superb! Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, Michael and Russell. My daughter and I received a warm welcome, and lots of advice on what to do and where to dine in Daylesford. The rooms at this B & B are equal to a five star hotel, with queen size sleigh beds and fluffy doonas, bathrobes, English toiletries, flat screen TV, well stocked bar fridge etc. All the linen is ‘snow’ white and of excellent quality. Our balcony room was large, with arm chairs for relazation. The breakfast was scrumptious, with lots of choices – we had the full English breakfast, with a vegetarian version for my daughter. The setting, overlooking Lake Daylesford, is picturesque, and is surrounded by forests teeming with bird life. Congratulations Michael and Russell on your professionalism and presentation!

This was amongst the best short holidays that I have ever had.
Not only was the accommadation first class, (
the Molt & Brown soaps & shampoos) The warm and friendly atmosphere and the genuine friendship offered by Russell & Michael combined for a stay that wiil be fondly remembered and revisited time and again.
We had a fantastic weekend at Balconies Daylesford. The rooms are stylish and comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Russell and Michael also gave us great advice on local galleries, markets and restaurants. We have recommended this B&B to friends who are looking for a relaxing getaway.

The accomodation was in a great location, to town and also a few minutes walk to the lake.
We did however find the rooms a little noisy, especially with floorboards throughout the building.

Balconies is the ultimate luxurious getaway. The hosts Michael & Russell are warm, welcoming & fun. A gorgeous setting with wildlife all around, the lake within walking distance, town with it’s fabulous restaurants & shops a short stroll, spas close by. Would have loved to stay for a week instead of a weekend but would have been too relaxed to leave! The rooms have spectacular views of the garden from their terraces, beautiful lush furnishings, everything was so clean & sparkling. A delicious breakfast with so many choices set us up for the day. Our much needed break from work and a household of adolescents came one recent weekend. Luckily we chose to stay at Balconies, an exquisitely set B&B near the heart of Daylesford yet in the middle of nowhere. Balconies, with its sweeping grounds and lake, proved a haven. We loved the comfort, a welcoming chatty host, books and games just outside our door, and a beautiful, restful decor with tasteful, ultra-modern fittings. We rested, exercised mildly, ate and shopped, returning via the easy drive to Melbourne refreshed and planning our return.

We visited Balconies for a week end of sheer luxury. We were warmly welcomed by Michael who filled us in on places to visit which was a great help. We were delighted with the wonderful ambience during our stay.. Our environment was immaculate,,a beautiful Queen sized sleigh bed with crisp white linen (plenty of pillows which was a very nice change). The gardens were truly lovely with a small lake nestling below the balcony with bird life abounding. Breakfast was prepared by our hosts and was fantastic, there was a great selection on offer to suit all palates. Balconies is a place to unwind and come away feeling relaxed. This is a modern B&B where you can enjoy your privacy in your spacious room reading a book on the balcony, watching a DVD on the TV , listening to music ( ipod docking station supplied) , if you must you can check your e-mails on your laptop (wi-fi available to guests) or you can spend time by the fire place in the main lounge with a glass of wine watching a movie or meeting the other guests.
The decor is modern throughout the B&B combining comfort and style!

There is no such thing as perfection. “Balconies” could very well destroy this myth.
Russell and Michael are the consummate hosts only too willing to share their knowledge of the surrounding areas to ensure your stay will be enjoyable and memorable. To be pampered Balconies is the place.

This is a great place to stay with the nicest hosts we’ve met. The attention to detail makes this one of the best places we have stayed [unlike so many other places that over-promise]. The gardens are so peaceful and the ambience of Balconies ensures you begin unwinding the moment you arrive. We’ll be back for sure!

I was looking for somewhere to hide. Somewhere to stop and catch my breath. What a wonderful place to do nothing or everything. The rooms are set out with everything you need to close the door and hide.
The down stairs heated pool and hot tub was the perfect way to start my weekend of winding down.
Need an idea on how to spend the day or where to eat? No problem, Russell and Michael are more than happy to suggest a place or two.

We enjoyed two fabulous relaxing nights at this gorgeous place with its beautiful surroundings and sensational hosts who made you feel so at home and comfortable. The spacious well set out rooms and balcony were a warm welcome to a couple who needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our hosts with their local knowledge of the area were able to offer expert suggestions of places to eat and things to do. And not to mention the breakfast… SENSATIONAL!
