cape conran coastal park

It is a pristine environment with great ocean beaches with a glorious rocky outcrop nearby as well as a protected tidal river. There is good separation between camping sites and some superb cabins, all nestled in protected coastal vegetation. It is a good base for touring back to Marlo and the Snowy River estuary and up to the Erinundra Plateau.

Beautiful, serene, quite beaches surrounded by green bush and an amazing crowd of kookaburras.

Peaceful and beautiful. No moble phones or TV. Just beaches and forest. Cabins and tents and caravans.

This magnificent site among the banksias attracts the sort of people I like to share space with: avid nature-lovers whose idea of a holiday is escaping the “ratrace” and living simply with the natural environment as their major source of “entertainment”. Whether camping or enjoying the comfort of the exquisitely-designed cabins, one is rarely offendeded by obnoxious noise, light, fumes or litter. A place where the “neighbours” are respectful of each other and the beautiful environment.

Ideal location for groups of families to get away from it all…together! Separate sheltered camp sites and communal camp fire settings provide the best of both worlds. The kids can form a big, fun gang for beach combing, board games, wildlife-spotting with the rangers, swimming or just generally ‘mucking around’. Adults can enjoy time walking, tending the barbie and catching up. When the sandman starts calling, each camper can slip off to the peace of their own swag at their leisure. Too easy!

A great camping spot close to home for a weekend break or extended hoilday. The kids love beachcombing and chasing the waves and there are some great walks.

This really is one of the best places in the world to get away from it all. Camping is the way to do it, and the beaches are beautiful. The bush walking trails are great too, and it’s perfect for relaxing as you just bring all your food and drinks in and don’t leave for the whole time you’re there! Great spot to meet people and hang out.

Situated at Cape Conran a short drive east from the seaside town of Marlo, this place offers a wilderness retreat for all ages. The cabins are situated in coastal bushland behind the dunes adjacent to the beach. Abundant in wildlife , and birdlife, take a walk along the numerous trails or mountain bike it . A boardwalk also leads around ledges and rockpools to Cowrie Bay , a series of coves awash with shells. The local beach is a safe haven for swimmers, there is also a boat launching ramp and jetty nearby and scuba divers can enjoy diving around the rocks or at beware reef . There is a caming ground also where dogs are welcome.

Cape Conran Reserve is located approx 19kms from Marlo, Vic. It is where the Snowy river meets the sea. They offer cabin accomodation as well as budget camping facilities. The place is abundant with wildlife, such as wallabies, echidnas, wombats ect. We usually stay in the cabins. Each has its own outdoor BBQ and you walk down the tracks from your cabin for about 3 mins and you are on a beautiful secluded beach.

Such a beautiful place to get away from it all. The cabins were excellent, the coastal park is stunning. We loved the spot between Marlo and Cape Conran called French’s Narrows, beautiful lakes behind the sand dunes. The Marlo pub is a good place to relax in the afternoon with a game of pool or two.

We visited every summer for twenty seven years. Our children were raised there exposed to a tranquil environment with diverse opportunities for recreation from surfing and fishing to walking or bike riding and bird watching. This place offers suitable acquatic options for differing weather conditions and it has the best beach in the country and a great camping area. A nature lovers paradise.
