edgewater terraces at metung

Edgewater Terraces is a magical spot to stay. It’s on the edge of Metung in a valley overlooking Chinaman’s Creek. We were there on Saturday (escaping from Melbourne) and watched 3 dolphins cruise down into Chinaman’s creek and then back out again – we were so close to them standing on Edgewater Terraces private jetty. It’s Victoria’s best kept secret!

One of Australia’s most tranquil locations, overlooking the boats moored on Chinamans Creek. Once you share the the beauty and hospitality at Edgewater, it is almost impossible to holiday any where else. Thanks to hosts Sue & Bob!

My kids and I stayed at Edgewater Terraces last summer with a girlfriend and her kids and we all had a great time! The villas were immaculate, beautiful and clean. The kids loved scootering along the boardwalk and playing in the pool. I would definitely recommend anyone who is going to the Gippsland Lakes to stay here!

We have been visiting Metung regularly for over 30 years and have stayed at many of the resorts / motels. The best accomodation we have found so far is ‘Edgewater Terraces’ and Bob and Sue Jennion are the perfect hosts. The units are of high standard, comfortable with all amenities and always spotlessly clean. The location on Chinaman’s Creek is perfect, with a great jetty for fishing and a place to tie up our boat. Metung Villiage is a nice leisurely 20 minute walk along the foreshore boardwalk with lovely views of Bancroft Bay with its boats and water birds. Good meals and great coffee are to be had in Metung, truely a great break from the ‘hurly burly’ of city life.

My family has been holidaying in Metung for many years – lately we have been staying at Edgewater Terraces – a ‘home away from home’. All our needs are catered for even birdseed for us to feed the beautifull local birds. My young son enjoys playing with the other children in the resort especially at the pool and in the spa. This year we were able to fish from Edgewater’s new jetty and we always love walking along the boardwalk and spotting dophins in Bancroft Bay.

Gen and I had a really special time at Edgewater last November as part of our wedding celebrations over a weekend at Swan Reach and Metung. In fact, our wedding party (including overseas visitors) almost booked out Edgewater. Sue and Bob were great hosts; really flexible and accommodating. Our family and friends were happy with our choice of accomodation, and had a great stay!

A fantastic and special place to visit, much less honeymoon, with the lake vista, birdlife, walks to Metung, Season Restaurant, Metung Galley, etc – the list goes on and on.

The most recent tatoo on our daughter embodies the spirit of Edgewater and its surrounds, viz.:

Vive Con Pasion! (Live with Passion!)

More in a sublime way, though….

What a wonderful place to stay!! EdgeWater terraces IS a home away from home, It is hard to find accommodation with all the perks. You have more than friendly hosts who can not do enough to make you and your family comfortable, always with a friendly smile and hello. The appartments are just wonderful with everything you could possibly need which makes your stay so much easier and comforting. The kids were so pleased with swimming pool and were even felt welcome enough to play in Sue and Bobs own back yard with their grandson. Now that for me is true hospitality! Good on you Sue and Bob, keep up the brilliant work!

Lovely and well equipped units but electronic and printed brochures give the impression you are right on waters edge; which is not totally accurate. Our recent visit was somewhat spoiled by major (and very noisy) maintenance works being carried out.

We were really impressed with Edgewater’s tranquil and relaxed setting. It offers a great range of modern accommodation with room to move. Located in a quiet valley it is well suited to romantic escapes or family holidays that everyone will remember. Unwind next to a cosy log fire or watch from your balcony as the distant yachts glide across beautiful Bancroft bay. We wandered along one of the best board walks in the Gippsland lakes to enjoy a great breakfast in nearby Metung village. Just like the pelicans – we will be back.

This is a beautiful tranquil place at the entrance to Metung. It overlooks chinamans creek and every morning we wok up to the sound of bellbirds interspersed with the tinkling of cables against masts of the yachts morred in front of the complex. Very comfy accommodation and spacious and clean. Wood fires gave it lots of ambience. A great place!
