Not far from Melbourne at all so the perfect place for a weekend getaway! Although there is lots to explore around Daylesford, you could easily just stay tucked away at teh Lakehouse and dine in! The rooms are beautiful, the food is out of the world and the views are worth the stay alone!

Serenity, peaceful setting (a location Mr. Darcy would build his county retreat), the idyllic escape from the mad frenetic city life (at least for a couple of days) eat succulent pheasant, drink rich local wines, spas and massages and indulge; live like the Romans did. You won’t go home!

We don’t often “treat” ourselves so the experience of the Lakehouse is one to be savoured. The food and wine are superb, the service subtle and excellent, the accomodation luxurious while the general atmosphere remains ‘country-style’ welcoming. Lots of services offered by way of pampering too and all in a town that has lots of other things to see and do also.
For an indulgent weekend, Lake House ticked all of the boxes for us. Great accommodation, georgeous food, relaxing spa and massage. We even had time for shopping and sightseeing around Daylesford including a local farmer’s market…….. Wonderful!
Legendary restaurant, top-notch location on The Lake. Great rooms and lots of pampering facilities. Lovely garden too. And then there is quaint Daylesford to visit, with its cute shops, the art gallery and more.

My husband gave me a night away with my best friend at the Lakehouse in Daylesford for my birthday. It was a great room we stayed in and the view from our room to the lake was wonderful. We had a massage and a facial before going out to dinner. When we were there we had lunch at the Chowder House in Hepburn Springs and that was fantastic as well. We had a great 2 days away and came back very relaxed. Jane

Although I haven’t been there, from a feng shui perspective the Lake House seems to fit my bill of a perfect holiday destination. It has beautiful greenery which excites and brings joy to the eye. It has clear water which calms the spirit. It has fresh and delicious food, lovingly prepared, which nourishes and satisfies the body. What more could a mere mortal ask for?
This place is situated in lovely daylesford which makes it in a great town to relax and forget about work. the lakehouse is one step up from there just taking your breath away with its serenity and and peaceful surroundings. I loved it when i stayed there. i didnt want to go home back to work.
Another place another world, where else can you relax in your own room with a view of a lake, trees and gentle hills. A path to walk and explore and to top that a massage thrown in.

A great, restful location for a holiday
We stayed at Lake house as a special treat when we retired. Such a beautiful destination where you have access to gourmet delights, great scenery, arts and history in the local area. At Lake House we loved the attention to detail, the excellent staff who were very atttentive but discreet and of course the wonderful dining experience. We did not think we could afford to stay again but our children surprised us with a second stay to celebrate our 60th birthdays.
The children’s choice was for a longer stay and a room upgrade. We felt very fortunate to have been given this special gift to indulge once again in this special place.

We loved our dining experiences at the Lake House so much that we decided to get married there! Our day was amazing. The attention to detail was impressive, the food was scruptious and the atmosphere was elegant. The Lake House certainly lives up to its reputation as being one of the best eateries in Victoria. We then stayed at the LakeHouse which was beautiful. The accommodation was faultless. A stay is a must… if you do, make sure you try the maple cream with the lemon cake for breakfast!

We got married in Daylesford 10 yrs ago & stayed at the Lake House. It is & was such a romantic spot that has special memories for us. I would highly recommened the Lake house to couples for that special break or weekend away.
We have stayed here a number of times, over different periods of our lives. Both single and now with kids and each time our experience is bettered.
Whether it be the beautiful surronds, a gourmet lunch or an afternoon at the spa, my single self and now working mum think this is the ideal getaway for all.
The Lakehouse is a very special place to take that very special someone, and when the experience is over you truly come alive.
Certainly it has marvellous food and great views but it is the little things like fresh coffee and opera for breakfast that impresses!
The setting…perfect. The ambience…serene. The food…exquisite. The service…impeccable. Why would you go anywhere else for a weekend away or special occasion? Lunch and dinner are also specialities of the Lake House.

I haven’t actually stayed at the Lakehouse, but it one place in Victoria that I would love to go. It has a fabulous reputation and Daylesford is such a pretty place. I have been there a few times for day trips. The Lakehouse is a place where I would enjoy the relaxation treatments available and just spend time enjoying the beautiful walks around the town or maybe just ponder about just how lucky I am.
