Opposite a wharf ideal for fishing off, walk in to town location, resort is quiet, enclosed (private), enjoyed for a short stay as a couple or whole family groups can enjoy it in seperate accomodation units available in various combinations.It combines a classy edge with a quaint country feel. Totally relaxing and a wonderful setting in a beautiful place.The whole concept works wonderfully.

own space. Very relaxing with great walks along boardwalk to the village. Swimming, golf , table tennis and childrens activities are available to entertain all.
McMillans of Metung – It’s captivating, wide open spaces, leafy and serene surroundings, clean and beautifully manicured grounds. Ideal for relaxation. We keep wanting to go back again and again.
We stayed here in September 2009 with three small children. The gated holiday community gives the resort a sense of exclusiveness at the time making you feel secure. We stayed in a spa villa which was extremely well appointed and presented. The playground was great for the kids.
I loved all the little extra little notes around the place, it made you feel that the managment really put a lot of effort and care about keeping the place clean and presentable.
Have stayed at McMillans of Metung in July and September this year, enjoyed both stays immensely. Villas are very well appointed and location is tremendous with a very tranquil feel. Tennis courts and games room are good attractions for kids during the day, fishing close by and the boardwalk adds further visions and memories.
My husband, son and I stayed at McMillans in May and although the weather was starting to get cool, there was still plenty to do – fishing from the jetty and beach, walking along the shore, eating at the beautiful cafes, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved walking around the beautiful landscaped gardens. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. Metung has always been a favourite of ours, but this is the first time we’ve stayed at McMillans and will definitely not be the last!
My husband and I spent a lovely week, in a villa, at McMillans of Metung, which is our favourite holiday resort, for rest and recuperation from a very busy life. We loved the view, the beautifully tended gardens and the wonderful birdlife on the lagoon, which created an ever changing scene from our balcony. Although the weather was a little inclement it did not stop us from taking lots of walks and just being so close to the lakes was a joy in itself, ‘away from the madding crowds’. Our villa had everything we required and more. It was very peaceful and so close to everything that is Metung, which holds a a host of very special memories for us over many visits.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at McMillian’s of Metung – loved the views, the wildlife and the location in general. Great holiday for young families – Metung is a very friendly town. We were made to feel very welcome, enjoyed a hit of tennis, scenic walks, some boating on the lake and fantastic food at the Metung Galley. We’ll definitely be back!

My familiy which includes elderly parents, young adults and small children have had the pleasure of staying at this resort many times over the past 5 years. We have always found it to be very relaxing and enjoyable with the proximity to the water and native flora and fauna being an absolute delight. We look forward to many more enjoyable visits.
We had a wonderful long weekend stay at McMillans for Father’s Day. The kids fished so many times off the private jetty and our 11 year old daughter caught her first larger sized fish! Enjoyed the tennis, fantastic atmosphere and the lovely chocolates upon arrival. We all felt so relaxed and also enjoyed the walks we did into town and to the yacht club for dinner. Congratulations on a great place and we would thoroughly recommend it!
This is one of the most beautiful places water views glass of wine,boating there was so much to look at,not to mention the rooms the one we stayed in was so big it was like having an 18 square home sitting on the water very private we had the kids with us but hardly herd from them and metung it’s as safe as houses,the kids checked out the boats shops and we just did what ever.
Metung is a fabulous destination and a beautiful part of Victoria. McMillans is great; modern, well appointed, heaps to do for all the family, and really well priced. We will go back for sure!
We had a wonderful time at McMillans. It is hidden in a tranquil setting, yet boasts a huge range of activities for all the family. The beautiful Gippsland Lakes are only metres from the front gate of McMillans. The houses are well appointed and modern with all the facilities we needed to enjoy our stay. We appreciated the guidance of the managers to suggest local activities, restaurants, wineries and water activites. Metung is a truly magical destination, and McMillans is the best resort in East Gippsland and the Lakes area.
Behind the gates, this most wonderful oasis. Try find another accommodation place with so much room. It even has its own moorings for boats and yachts so you can enjoy the Gippsland Lakes.

Very nice place to holiday, units are modern and well appointed, grounds are very well maintained, it has a jetty and marina and manager’s are very attentive.
This resort has a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Has a very upmarket feel about it with plenty to observe or partake in, in the area.
Will certainly be seeing Sandra and Noel again. (I liked their taste in wines too)
It’s the little touches like the suggested activities for the day according to the weather delivered with your morning newspaper and a sprig of lavender that makes you feel special.
McMillans Resort is a great spot to unwind, relax and play. With first class accommodation in their Villas and Cottages, each with wonderful views over their buitifully landscaped property with their own lagoon, where Mollie the goose reigns supreme, and across the waters of Bancroft Bay. They have a great number of things to do if you want to be active: swimming in heated pool, have a game of tenis or basketball, play table tennis, have a sauna, or you can play golf nearby, or take one of the picturesque walks around the lake. If you just want to ‘chill out’ you can relax on the balcony with a good book and a glass of wine, or even better, have a massage in their on site Relaxation Centre. The local pod of Bottle Nose Dolphins made their rounds every day and we were thrilled when they came right up to our feet as we were standing on the boardwalk. The hosts, Sandra and Noel Prout, are very accommodating and make every effort to ensure that you have a wonderful stay with them. We can thoroughly recommend McMillans of Metung.
What a restuful few days we enjoyed at McMillans. The hospitality shown by the management and staff were wonderful. The ambience lends itself to families or couples and walking, boating, fishing and sighseeing are all there for the taking.
We will return.

Fantastic family venue – lots of beautiful open green space, lots of birds, fresh air and quiet! Far enough out of the village to be quiet, and close enough to walk in for coffee!

What a lovely place to go to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life! The gardens are beautifully kept, the cottages are all lovely, and restaurants and cafes are within easy walking distance. Have had the pleasure of staying a few times, and hope to return very soon.
Everything you could need in accommodation, fantastic views, heaps of open space, tennis court, pool, plus a private jetty for the boat. Tried two restaurants plus the pub for dinner, all good, plus all within easy walking distance. Great place to stay.

Had a great time. Huge open spaces for the kids to run around in as well as the fishing and swimming. We also hired a small boat from the boat hire place right next door. Fantastic.

The open space is fantastic for the kids along with the added security that they can run around in a safe environment. The units are modern and very comfortable, would highly recommend it to people with young families.

A place to be amid nature in comfort. Beautiful scenery, relaxed feel, fabulous for us oldies (44 & 46yrs) and all of our kids (13 to 23yrs). A brisk walk into to town, a meal and a few then a leisurely stroll home along the board walk. Ahhh Heaven
The grounds at McMillans were beautiful, spacious and very relaxing. Even at the height of the dry summer, we were surrounded by a lush green environment with a stunning view of the lakes from our Villa. The accommodation was great with modern facilities including a washing machine and dryer I wanted to take home. Terrific for families but the accommodation is spaced out so well that it would be very quiet and relaxing for couples as well.

We loved everything about McMillans!! This accommodation is clean, spacious and has everything you need to you enjoy your stay. The grounds are private and quiet and the gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The kids have plenty to do with the swimming pool, tennis courts and games room. We loved being able to sit on the balcony and enjoy a quiet drink while watching the kids play. It is also great because there are fabulous eating places within walking distance and the beach is right outside the gates. Highly recommended place to stay!!
I’ve stayed at McMillan’s several times, once with a big group of friends for my birthday and another time for a romantic getaway with my new beau. On both these occasions, the weather was fantastic, the gardens and surrounds are beautiful and peaceful and there’s so much to do, yet so relaxing if you do nothing! The accommodation is 5 star but with a large group, the costs are similar to sleeping at a youth hostel. Very affordable. Also great for families with kids play area and outdoor pool on offer. Everything you could ask for and all in Victoria.

Just spent 7 of the most enjoyable days I have had in a long time at McMillans of Metung Resort. Having never been to the Gippsland region before I found it delightful. The resort itself was a very pleaseant experience, the abundance of wildlife in the natural setting was quite a surprise which I enjoyed. The scenery from my cottage was “to die for”, also the leisurely stroll I had into the little village centre each day for my morning coffee ws just perfect. As I am in the tourist industry in NSW
McMillans of Metung has become a regular holiday destination for our family. We have three boys and this is our sixth year. It’s a magnificent setting, the resort has a wonderful peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, the facilities are excellent and always well-maintained (pool, tennis court, table tennis, BBQs on balcony, open space etc) and the villas are simply some of the best accommodation we’ve stayed in. Being right next to the Gippsland Lakes, we’ve discovered some great fishing spots, and our boys have developed a real enjoyment of boating and watersports. This is a special place.
Great for relaxation. Ideal for boating as guests can use the marina. The grounds are also immaculately kept. Accommodation units are new & well appointed.
As a current working compay director I personally found that McMillans Resort at Metung is a restful place after the week’s stress and problems.
The 5 minute drive to the small “centre” is quite picturesque and pleasant.
It takes about 30 minutes drive to Lakes Entrance if one desires a different landscape.
Can thoroughly recommend this Resort.
Standard is of the highest, accommodation excellent and extremely comfortable
Spacious grounds and plenty of quite walks, overlooks the water , and is only a short walk to the village. One is made to feel very welcome and it is really a home away from home. Suitable for couples for that quite week-end or longer families are made to feel most welcome.plenty of activities for children to enjoy. Very nice boutique restuarants in the villages to enjoy. We were advised that catering for Conferences or Weddings is not a problem.

I have stayed there as a family, as a couple and had a “girls weekend” there. Had a fabulous time each time. Being a short walk to the villiage is great for a family meal at the pub or a “couples” dinner at one of the restaurants. Will visit again.

Situated on 8 acres of lush green landscaped grounds, with cottages catering for 2 people upwards. The accommodation has all that one could want, and is very comfortable. Has a lovely pool area, access to private jetty for those with a boat and its own wetlands. The resort is located a very pleasant 15 minute walk from the “village” centre. It is a delightfully peaceful place to stay.
Both my husband and I had just finished restoring our property after the Benall 1993 flood. Our daughters booked us a cottage at McMillians which was absolutely magnificant where we were able to relax. A wonderful resort in a truely beautiful part of Victoria.
