Have just had a beautiful return visit to Monreale. It was even better the the first time. The location, setting, cottage, food and ambience were just lovely. Just love the peace, the walks, the gardens – the whole thing. We’ll be back with more friends.

What a fantastic weekend we had at Monreale! My husband & I stayed there for our Wedding Anniversary a few years ago, & we are planning another trip up there soon. The cottage was so cosy, and had all the trimmings. The owners were wonderful, and produced a delicious basket of goodies for our evening meal. We also enjoyed a massage each in our room by a qualified therapist. We had such a relaxing weekend, & I have recommended Monreale to many friends for that special time away.

We had just arrived back from a fantastic but hectic trip to Eygpt in need of total relaxation before going back to the hustle and bustle of every day life.I suggested to my husband to surf the net for a romantic quiet couple days together, when we came across Monereal Estate Cottages we were so so lucky as they were on midweek special,we had never stayed in the Dandenongs.I can honestly say the Cottages were the best cottages we have stayed at any where in Australia. We spent the two most relaxing days in seclsion, beautful ammenites spa bath, excellent bed, cosy fire, music, videos lots of birds and a srumpious breakfast……..wow 10—10 and great walking tracks !!!!!!

When poets speak of peace and tranquillity, surely this is the scene their imaginations conjure. I simply could not think of a place more wonderful than Monreale Estate. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there, and we fell in love forever with this beautiful part of the world, so very close to home. You almost feel like you would have to travel far and wide to find somewhere like Monreale, and yet here it is, at our very doorstep. The accommodation is first rate, and the hosts are a shining example to all in their industry. At a time when holiday-makers are looking to save money wherever they can, Monreale provides such value and service that it is worth every cent of the price to stay there. I know that my wife and I will be making many trips back to this jewel of the Dandenongs, for many years to come.

My husband and I had our first weekend away at Monreale. We then spent a week there a couple of years later on our honeymoon.
It’s now our special treat place and always offers the perfect tranquil getaway.

Julie and I have been going to Monreale for nearly 10 years. This is our special place as we have so many memories to cherish, we celebrate our wedding aniverisary there every year and try to sneak another weekend in when we can. We have an 8 hour round trip from far east gippsland but the peace and serenity far outways the long trip. Monreale would have to be the most relaxing, peaceful and seren getaway we have experienced, the wonderful host also makes it very special with the what ever it takes attitude to make your stay very special. There is nothing more peaceful and relaxing that kicking back with a nice glass of wine, a warm cosy fire, your lovely wife and listening to some 60s & 70s music on Gold FM, you just don’t want to leave. Looking forward to our next getaway.

We have stayed several times at Monreale, it’s like being in a different world. Each time choosing a different room to enjoy and every experience we have had there has been better than the last, that’s why i chose to propose to my girlfriend and in a few weeks my wife to be at Monreale. Every time we speak and think about Monreale we always have special memories.

I took my English girlfriend to Monreale on her first visit to Australia and was so happy I chose it because I couldn’t have wished for a better way to show off the wonders of the Dandenongs. Beautiful gardens are complemented by more than modest rooms with excellent amenities. I’ve recently recommended it to a friend who was looking for an anniversary present, i’d recommend the same to any who would ask!

A lovely tranquil experience in the heart of the mountains; we’ve been to the area a few times before and stayed in Olinda but most of the places we have been to were too close to the road to offer real seclusion; yet Monreale is perfectly placed – away from majopr roads – gives the feeling of being totally immersed in the forrest – yet close in terms of driving there; it really was the perfect escape for us and we will definitely be returning.

One of our favourite things to do is spend time at Monreale. Since we discovered this gem a few years ago, we always ensure we return at least once a year for a special day or two. It is a romantic, tranquil, luxurious and accessible spot. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly, the hampers are sensational, the surroundings beautiful and we always return home wishing we had stayed longer.

Beautiful and relaxing. Arriving to a warm, comfortable room with an open fire, spa and breakfast supplied in a gorgous hamper full of fresh produce. We felt like we were the only ones staying at the Monreale Estate but if we ever required help we were always greeted with a smile and they were always willing to go above & beyond assist with any needs.

after a hectic first half of the year with busy work and family comitments a weekend to simply relax and celebrate a belated birthday and wedding aniversay was in order. first impression of monreale estate was the beautiful garden, crisp clean air, freindly and accommodating hosts. we loved the atmosphere of the magnolia cottage filled with lovely furnishing and a great open fire place which we lit immediately. A decadent candle light dinner topped the night. Next morning after a fantastic breakfast explored the property, wished the fairytale weekend could go on for ever. Would recommend monreale estate for a great getway with plenty to do in olinda or sassafras or just to get away from it all. I didn’t want to leave. july 2009

Every now and then you need a treat and Monreale is indeed that. Everything is done for you and done superbly. It is convenient to the city yet far enough away and secluded enough to make it feel like a holiday even if only away for 24 hours. My wife and I try to have at least one night away of luxury / complete relaxation each year. For the last 4 years we have chosen Monreale for that night and our plans are to continue to do so.

had a very bad experience with them, stayed there at cold time( 15 August) the fire place didn’t work . they came to fix it. they couldn’t. we had to live firstly in the morning because the cottage was to cold. the owner was aware of the issue, they didn’t offer to move us to another cottage (there was plenty of empty cottage available) or when she saw us living to early in the morning because the cottage was too cold, she still charge me the full amount which we didn’t think it was fair. they are there to make money not to comfort the visitor.

we left the place very disappointed.

The gardens are just stunning, the cottages are incredibly luxurious and relaxing, every single detail has been thought of to ensure a perfect getaway. Cheryl & Karl are the perfect hosts. My first trip to Monreale was a suprise by my partner for our anniversary and we love it so much – we are getting married there in 3 months!

I purchased a voucher at Monreale for my parents wedding anniversary. They had the most relaxing and enjoyable time. They could not speak more highly of it.
Just hoping my husband and I can get the kids babysat one weekend and spend some quality time there. And we will!

Our first time we stayed, we were enchanted by the serene and cozy secluded cottages, spoilt for choice with the delicious picnic hampers and thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much that we are coming back in 7 weeks time to spend our first night here as husband and wife.
