tarra valley rainforest retreat

It is very near the beautiful Tarra-Bulga National Park and you can swim in water holes just near the retreat. The hosts, Lisa and Swiss chef Roman, are wonderfully friendly and hospitable, the rooms are beautiful with hand made chocolates on the pillow to greet us and Roman’s meals are superb. The chocolate appreciation course is a must, very interesting, educational and great to taste single origin chocolate from a variety of countries. The outdoor spa is gorgeous, birds feed outside the dining room and you can see wombats at night and lyrebirds when walking nearby. I highly recommend it!!

Beautiful place in the rainforest, close to lovely mountain ferny bush tracks and close to the ninety mile beach.
In summer its slightly cooler than the city and a very peaceful break from city life.
Lisa and Roman are lovely hosts and the chocolate was a real treat.

Tarra Valley is indeed a hidden treasure. Ferns, babbling brooks and wildlife abounds in this beautiful little valley.

Hosts Lisa & Roman made our weekend very special. We celebrated our wedding anniversary in style with their Anniversary Package complete with candlelit dinners and red roses. We were so relaxed we didn’t even venture out of the retreat. Sat in the outdoor spa underneath the first truly milky way we’ve ever seen! What a spectacular setting for our anniversary!

We plan to celebrate there every year from now on. Thanks Lisa & Roman.

Tarra Valley Rainforest Retreat is just that-a wonderfulretreat. Had the most fabulous two days here. Roman and Lisa are wonderful hosts-always there when you need something but never intrusive. Dark starry nights and beautiful lyrebird song were enough to lull us to sleep each night-the best we’ve had in ages.
We did their new Chocolate Teaser Course which included some hands-on chocolate work which was a lot of fun.
Walks in the nearby rainforest cleared our minds ready for a reluctant return to work.
We’ll definately be back again soon!
