the deck house

We spent a mid week there in March (3 days/2 nights). We had a lovely time, not far from Lorne, we visited the waterfalls and a beautiful sunrise from our spectacular view from our windows. Breakfast out on the deck that overlooked the ocean below. Dinner at the Wye River pub was delicious. A koala up the tree at the top of the driveway. Walking along the clean beach and sand squishing between your toes. We had a very relaxing time. Roaring fire and fresh air.

The Deckhouse simply is the most Idyllic and Romantic Couples seaside destination in Victoria.

Perched high atop a cliff at Wye River, The Deckhouse far exceeds expectations.

Standing in the corner of the lower deck, with arms outstretched, it is not hard to imagine yourself in ‘that’ scene from “The Titanic”… You feel as if you are perched above the Ocean.

The views are vast and encompass the cove at Wye River and several points of land in the distance, the last point of land being Aireys Inlet and its Historic Lighthouse.

Lying in the comfortable bed, listening to the waves, we were lulled into the most peaceful restful sleep we’ve ever have ever had. The Deckhouse is pure Heaven.

The Deckhouse is extremely well “decked out”.
We stayed for 3 days and appreciated the fully and thoughtfully equipped Kitchen and Flat-screen TV, DVD and music system.

The TV wasn’t really needed as the view from bed was sublime.

We were fortunate enough to see seals and dolphins from our deck!

We have stayed at several couples accommodations along the Great Ocean Road, seeking the perfect waterfront romantic rendezvous.

There is no better coastal location than The Deckhouse.

    We will be back…

The Deck House is the ultimate get-away – leave the hectic city behind and come to the tranquility which awaits. What more can you ask for?

Surely one of the very best B & B establishments in the country. A simply idyllic forested beach view absolute serenity and delightful hosts.
