I loved the Hotel Windsor’s position, safe and close to Flinders Lane, my favorite place. I go there to visit Collette in Tessuti Fabrics and Christine at Christine’s. A former buyer for Georges Christine stocks the best European accessories and advises how one should wear them, an Alladins cave.

The Hotel Windsor has a wonderful (and very tall
Concierge) who welcomed us warmly. They have the most comfortable beds (in fact we bought some of their
feather pillows online upon our return home.
High tea can be had at the Windsor on Sundays, the Hotel is grand with spacious rooms and wide hallways,
it is close to Federation square and Chinatown, we dined at the latter several times, We love Melbourne and can’t wait to get back to the Windsor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Melbourne Affair package at the Windsor last week, Old Fashioned Service , we felt very spoilt , and what a grand old building reflecting yesteryear.

Each year, my wife and I save enough money to spend one night at The Hotel Windsor. We look forward to this annual event because the hotel staff treat us like Royalty. It is like living in a Palace for a day.

HIstorically it maintains the charm of yesteryear & helps give a feel of what ‘olde Melbourne’ was like in years gone by. A beautiful building, excellent & attentive staff, lovely dining – perfect for any getaway.

After we married accross the road at the registary, we had our reception at the magnificent “Windsor” ( 10 guests) , and the two of us were offered a tour of the accomodation we could of had, had we would have been able to afford it. Very beautiful.

Our recent “Recovery Package” short stay just what “the doctor ordered”!
Friendly staff and wonderful room. Valet parking made arrival / departure easy and option for extra hours of parking after checkout great as we could include some shopping and lunch as part of our city break.

Wonderful experience. It is easy to imagine what it must have been like to have stayed at the Windsor in the 1880’s with its opulence characteristic of that era.
Very comfortable rooms, deep bath and the modern convenience of internet and entertainment. Formal professional service combined with scrumptuous high tea made our stay one to remember.

The Windsor is the epitome of grace and grandeur. I was married from there, and my daughter was married from there – a wonderful way to start a new life. Staff are so helpful, and the rooms elegantly comfortable. Excellent dining and, of course, the location is just the best for a stay in the city.

The hotel is in one of Melbourne’s most majestic historic building. Inside you have the best of modern convieniences but you can still imagine you are back in Victorian times. It is situated right in heart of the wonderful city of Melbourne and you can walk or take a tram to every thing. If you need to go further an underground train station is right beside the hotel.
