tokemata retreat

Luxurious accommodation with golf driving range, putting green, tennis court, and swimming pool. Also very quiet, 7kms out of Cobhram. Lovely BBQ area. Walk through old river gums to the Murray. Friendly family proprietors, as is their dog.

We recently spent a wonderful long weekend with family and stayed in the three bedroom cottage. With 4 adults and 5 children we needed plenty of room and that is exactly what we got! The cottage was beautifully prepared for us and the grounds were just gorgeous. It was the ideal location for children to run and for adults to relax.

We are 3 couples who take short holiday breaks during each year. We choose to stay at Tokemata this past long weekend in the 3 bedroom 3 bathroom cottage. A magic weekend was had by all. The cottage was spotless and beautifully presented. The grounds are amazing with tennis court, pool, a one hole golf course and delightful outdoor areas for BBQing and relaxing. We would recommend this facility to anyone. The owners could not have been more generous.

We chose to stay there after family members had recommended it to us. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and had a lot of local knowledge. We enjoyed the company of their lovely dog Muttley on our bush walks and enjoyed lounging by the pool. The cottages were immaculate and beautifully decorated and the locally grown fruit was delicious! We will definitely be booking again in the near future and have recommended it to other family members and friends.

We have been coming down to Tokemata for the past 5 years for the annual running of the Hoffman Golf Cup. Each year we make the 7.5 hour drive south wih about a dozen guys and spend a week here. It must be said that Tokemata is Cobrams hidden Gem, i mean where else can you enjoy the 4 star cabin environment and literally step outside your door and swing a club in anger. Tokemata is simply a golfing Mecca for any group whishing to golf the Mighty Murray River. I can’t recommend this place enough to any group or couples that are interested in golfing the Murray. Renea & Mick are also a pleasure to deal with and only too happy to oblige with any requests (apart from dropping 10 shots of your handicap). 5 Stars from the Hoffman cup crew. We will be back!

We visited Tokemata Retreat and had such a peaceful, sunny, relaxing time. The cabin was spotlessly clean and the breakfast provisions just right. The view from the kitchen window was perfect (made even doing the dishes seem fun!). We had two very pleasant walks with the resident dog guide, who showed us the way down the river and behaved like a gentleman all the time! The bbq area was fantastic. We wished we had more time to spend there, to check out the pool and tennis court, not to mention the golf green!

We chose Tokemata Retreat for a 3 day break after a particularly difficult few months. The cottage and grounds were superb and the surrounds a delight. Being off the main highway and out of town was so relaxing we were reluctant to leave. We have stayed along the Muarray many times but this was by far the best ever. We’ll return!!

We have just returned from spending 3 days @ Tokemata Retreat Cobram the accomodation was excellent, spotlessly clean & comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the well equipped BBQ area along with “Muttley” who also enjoyed our BBQ nights.!! The peacefulness & delightful grounds plus walks along the river are what relaxation is all about. We do not hesitate to recommend this destination & will be happy to return.

I have stayed at a number of locations on the River over the years and this is the best so far. Very price competitive, excellent peaceful location with a number of options for activities. The walk through the bush (complete with Koala and the family dog as a Guide) down to the River bend was a treat.

I have just come back from a 3 night stay at Tokemata Resort. The grounds and the cottages are all kept immaculate and the hearty breakfast of fresh bread and free range eggs was very yummy. From the time I booked to the time I left everything went smoothly and the experience was great. I can’t wait to go back.

My family can not wait to return to Tokemata Retreat. My eiight year old daughter cried as we we left. We had a wonderfully relaxing time. It was safe and lots of fun for our children to explore the property,;swings, trampaline, cubby, and the driving range. Lots of fun and new fredom for city kids. We all went for a walk down to the Murray direct form the retreat. Perfectly positioned near Cobrum, Yarrawonga and the golf courses. Keep an eye out for the Yarrawonga Farmers Market. We could not believe the quality and variety of items on offer. Yum. Thanks Renae, see you soon!!

My partner and I stayed there earlier in the year to get away and have a relaxing long weekend away. And that is exactly what we had. Tokemata is a wonderful place to stay and relax. They have many facilities to make you feel welcome and comfortable throughout your whole stay. Renae was a lovely host. I will definetly be booking another stay there.

A four day stay at the Tokemata Retreat during the month of March was an absolute surprise packet. We travel with a group of 12 and alway have fun. We liked the space and the privacy. We had the entire Retreat to ourselves and utilized all the facilities day and night, including the driving range, the pool, the walk to the river, the BBQ area, and arranged a night for a chef to come in and cook a 4 course meal in our kitchen, while we sat and relaxed and enjoyed the weather and the red wine. Some time soon, we will book another weekend. Thank you,

Our whole extended family hire all 4 cabins. Our children can run free around the acres of beautful property at tokemata without us having to worry. It really does feel like Tokemata is our very own family holiday home. We look forward to going there every year. It truely is a special place.

We have been to visit Renae and Mick twice now and both times we have had a most enjoyable stay. Renae is very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cabin in which we stayed is very well appointed and the breakfast provisions were all local produce.

We hope to be able to go visit them again before the end of the year. Best of luck with the voting.

    Cheers, Beverley Martin

We spent a relaxing three days at Tokemata in April of this year and found the resort to be one of, if not the most pleasant holiday location we have visited in a long time. Renae, Mick and Muttley ( the dog ) were very friendly with nothing being too much trouble. The accommodation was spotless and luxurious in a very inviting location and surrounds. We have every intention of a return visit. We have no hestitation in recommending the resort to others

I took 6 couples on a mystery trip to Tokemata. They are still raving about the 4 nights spent at this remarkable retreat. Renae and Mick went out of their way to make sure we all enjoyed our stay, even staying up late one night to pick us up from a club (seafood night) so we could all enjoy the night. Arranged home cooked meals and a personal Chef one night so we didn’t have to go out. The food and setting was just fabulous. Just look at the photo’s on Website. It is even better in real life. There is so much to do in this area. Boosey Creek cheese – must visit and taste. Monichino Winery. I could go on & on, just talk to Renae and Mick and enjoy.

We spent three nights in the lovely 2 bedroom unit. It was above and beyond our expectations. The unit had everything that you would have in your own home. The landscaping was beautiful as was the golf driving range. Very family friendly, lovely dog named muttly. Tennis court, BBQ area, swimming pool, short walk to the Murray and only 7klms to town.
    Thanks Renae and Family.

Peaceful, rural setting just a short distance from Cobram and the might Murray River. Clean modern facilities. Ample supplies of breakfast essentials. Walk thru the gums, have a hit at the golf driving range or just relax and read a book. There is a magnificent pool suitable for the kids and adults. To cap it off everyone receives a hearty welcome from the proprietors’ dog a wonderful asset to the estate.
