window on the otways

These private, modern cantilevered cabins overlook the Otway ranges. They are self-contained and perfect for a romantic, secluded weekend or midweek retreat – with all mod cons including spa bathroom as well as access to an indoor wave pool and mini gym. Friendly, helpfuk owners complete the package for a memorable stay.

We can honestly say our stay at Window on the Otways was the highlight
of our trip. The accommodation was immaculate and the attention to
detail was at an utmost level. It was almost a pity that we began our
holiday at Window on the Otways because each place afterwards seemed
substandard in comparison! We loved the studio but also the thoughtful
and homey touches like homemade jam and bread and a deliciously stocked
    refridgerator full of luxurious items.
We have stayed at many boutique B&Bs and we feel that Window on the Otways is at the top of the industry. If we ever come down the Great Ocean Road again – which
is likely, as we loved it – we would definitely stay there once more.

This escape package was truly everything we expected and so much more. This place is well equipped for relaxation and rejuvenation.
I loved waking up to breathtaking views of the Otways and appreciated the kangaroos nibbling on the grass outside of our studio.
Many thanks for this great get away, we will be back soon…………..oooooohh the massage was divine too!!!!

It was the impossibly perfect getaway.

We arrived to homemade chocolates, champagne and port – thinking we couldn’t be spoiled anymore. However, was so suprised to find the finest breakfast ingredients, you would usually expect in a 5-star hotel. The bed was beautiful, looking out onto the canopy of the Otways, you got the same view from the spa bath for two. The booking system for the zen den was great, guaranteeing that you did not cross paths with anyone during the stay.

The perfect setup for a romantic getaway for two. Be prepared to lose yourself in the magic that is ‘windows on the otways’. Can’t wait to experience it again.

Windows on the Otways is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a romantic getaway.
We stayed 3.5 years for our honeymoon and have now returned for another romantic
holiday before our first baby arrives. The sounds of frogs croaking as you drift off to sleep
and the birds singing when you wake up to the most serene view, along witht the yummy breaky
provisions – we love it! The hosts Karen and Gordon are just lovely and so welcoming :)

This is what a relaxed holiday is all about to me. If I win the $1000, it will book me in for a special, much-needed, break. I can see myself on the deck, sipping a glass of delectable pinot, watching the stunning sunset without a care in the world.

We first stayed at Window on the Otways during our honeymoon. We quickly discovered the best option was never to leave for the entire duration of the stay! This is absolutely our most favorite place to stay. It is the perfect setting, wonderful owners and all the little extras are what help to make this an amazing place. We simply can’t stop going back!

Window on the Otways is gorgeous, what a sunset! We only stayed one night but definately wished it was longer. It’s close to melbourne and a great getaway. The cabins were gorgeous with little fireplaces, very warm in winter and with cosy interiors. We were actually so inspired by Window on the Otways that we are looking into ways to transform small living spaces into comfortable abodes, this is definately a feat of architecture and interior design!

Window on the Otways was one of the most beautiful and relaxing holiday one could ask for. Scenic, cozy and peaceful. We were made to feel welcome with a warm cabin and champagne waiting for us when we arrived. Could not have asked for more. We’ll be sure to come back.

A spectacular place to stay and relax! The views are amazing and the service makes it all that enjoyable. A spa, view, candles and wine set the atmosphere for a special time with my husband… one that made us feel like we were in another country. A wonderful time shared by the both of us… we will return again!

The owners made us feel like we were family and went to such great lengths to ensure were, not just comfortable, but spoiled. The Otways is such a short distance from Melbourne to feel as though you have been transported to a unique and beautiful landscape. The locals welcome tourists.

Window on the otways is AMAZING! The self contained apartments with the amazing views. You feel like your in the clouds.

The spa is to die for. The size of the spa coupled with the view, you really don’t mind if your skin prunes a little. (or a lot)

The service. It is very obvious that this is a service of love. Which only adds to the peaceful atmosphere.

    Absolutely must see!
You will fall in love with window on the otways.

Stunning view and lavish retreat. Architectually impressive. Couldn’t get a more private place. The little things are what makes this place fantastic. Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though it rained the entire time.
I would and have recommended Windows on the Otways as a retreat and for a romantic getaway.

My partner and I have actively sought out wonderfully, distinct and unique holiday destinations across Victoria and this place was our favorite. Not only is everything you could want supplied, but the atmosphere created inside and out of the unit is like no other. You will find yourself taking as many photos of the bedroom and bathroom as you will of the early morning fog or magnificent views. Privacy has never felt so luxurious and spacious. The location is ideal as the beach is so close yet you are perched in secluded bushland. I would recommend people check in as early as possible and stay for as many days as you can. It is a not a getaway you will want to leave in a hurry.

My wife and I believe that Windows on the Otways is one of the most romantic and relaxing places in not only Victoria but probably Australia. The owners have thought of everything in thier well appointed cabins and the views are just stunning.
We will always remember having a spa, sipping champayne and looking over the rolling hills of the Otways. A highly recommended stay.

Window On the Otways at Sincocks Road, Deans Marsh (just inland from Lorne) is just beautiful. It provides couples accommodation in funky “cantilever studios” that look over a beautiful valley in The Otway Ranges. It’s only a 15 minute drive to Lorne and the beach, yet soooo private and lovely. It’s really a magical couples only escape! They provide a lovely breakfast and there is a “Zen Den” where you can work out or use the “endless swim spa”. I loved this place and would recommend it to anybody for a great weekend escape within 2 hours drive from Melbourne.

We visted for a special week end away to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. It was breath taking. We had no interuptions unless we requested something specifically. We felt we were the only people staying there as it was extremely private even when venturing outside. Great place. We will definatly visit again. We always recommend staying to friends and family when they mention holidaying in the area. Fantastic AAA+

My husband and I stayed at Windows on the Otways for our 2oth Wedding Anniversay last November. It was an absolutely perfect spot to unwind, relax and feel pampered. The cabins are lovely, very cosy with the fire and it was all the “little” extras provided by Karen and Gordon that make it so special. The scenery was breathtaking and an all round great location whether you want to explore or just relax. You can’t beat this spot, we’ll be back! This place should be number 1 in the RACV 101 must stay places!

My husband and I spent 3 amazing days at Window on the Otways following our wedding. It was absolutely beautiful to be surrounded by the national park and have everything we needed in our cabin. The weather was cool and rainy and we stayed in front of the fire most of the time, venturing out only to have a spa; a walk on the property; and a quick dash to pick some berries at a local farm. The breakfast supplies and the bottle of champagne was a lovely touch! We have recommended to others and will defintely be returning for a romantic weekend away.

This beautiful accommodation is near Lorne on the Great Ocean Rd. The views are amazing in this cantilever design dwelling. You can enjoy the views from the spa bath or when lying in bed reading a book. The small touches provided by the hosts are well thought out-home made bread and jam to name a few. We stayed here last year and will definitely be back.

Accommodation consists of two separate spacious and unique, cantilevered units on stilts with breathtaking views of the Otways from the spa, elevated bed or balcony. These units are luxuriously equipped with large spa, fireplace with plenty of wood, lounge and kitchen area, extremely comfortable lounge and bed, two flat screen TVs. Everything oozes quality, soft towels, bath robes, bed linen. The most pleasant surprise was the complimentary home made chocolates (to die for!!), port, fridge filled with goodies local bread and jam. Use of the separate private gymnasium is on a roster system. There was nothing more we could ask for. This is accommodation you will rave about. Surprise and impress your partner. You will want to come back for more!

This place was nothing short of paradise. I asked my wife to marry me here, and we are looking forward to going back for our anniversary. Besides the scenery that cant be beaten, the friendly owners and the location to the coast, its the perfect place to relax. Windows is, I think, absloutely the best place we have ever stayed at. The attention to detail is incredible; how wonderful to arrive late on a freezing afternoon to find a roaring fire already lit and a beautiful aroma wafting throughout the whole studio from the oil burner. It is such a wonderful place to spend a relaxing few days. You couldn’t ask for more…and the spa bathroom, pure luxury!

Of the places we have stayed in Victoria Window on the Otways is definitely a favourite. The cabins have amazing views (including plenty of wildlife) with all the modern touches yet still feel cozy and romantic. Great location with plenty of privacy but also close enough to the many attractions in the Lorne area. Hosts were very friendly but never intruded on privacy. We would happily stay there again in the future

Just perfect. We stayed here over the Christmas / New Year period. From the accommodation to the Zen Den to our unseen but perfect and considerate hosts it was the most relaxing get away.

We visited friends staying in the Lorne area over the same period, We weren’t competing but if we were then they had good but we had better.

I would not hesitate to recommend Windows on the Otways to anyone (and have on many occasions).

We spent our week here for our honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. After getting the initial tour from the delightful hosts, we were then left in peace to come and go as we pleased. The studios were beautifully appointed too and it was stunning to wake up each morning as the fog lifted over the Otway Ranges. A great place to stay – thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here on our honeymoon in March 2009. Brilliant. Peaceful. Amazing views. Away from it all but still close to Lorne and other amenities but having said that what with the deck, the spa, the views from the bed and the Zen den why would you need to leave.

I do not want to exaggerate, but I think that, Window on the Otways is the best place for rest, not only in Victoria but throughout Australia.
Excellent comfortable cabins have all modern amenities and at the same time they are romantic and private.
Big swiming spa worthy of special mention.
We would like to return to this place again and again.
Hosts – Karen and Gordon – are worthy of special commendation for their efforts in maintaining the Window on the Otways at a level that is often inaccessible in other, more expensive places.
In our opinion this place is absolutely deserves to be included in the list of RACV Victoria 101 and 5-star rating.

We stayed for our tenth anniversary and had a wonderful time. It felt like we had the whole property to ourselves, and we loved waking up in the morning to the kagaroos on the grass, having meals on our balcony overlooking the Otways, and of course, our picnic down by the creek. Just climbing back up the property was an exciting adventure!

Our stay at Window on the Otways was truly memorable. The bed in our cabin was extremely comfortable – I still reminisce about how good those 3 night’s sleeps were! The owners were gracious and ‘unseen’, but made sure our stay was comfortable with homemade bread and lovely breakfast supplies waiting for us on arrival. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
